WWE officials are looking to be more edgier with RAW. The feeling is that Vince McMahon isn't behind the new push but obviously is on-board with it. Vince realizes that numbers are down and it's said that he is open to suggestions.

With the low ratings, WWE officials want to put out a product that's a little different than what we've seen over the past year or so. We can also expect to see more wrestling-heavy WWE programming.

:maybe:

God, I hope so. It's time for the PG era to hit the road! I was a young teen during the attitude era and knew kids a lot younger than me who watched it. We all turned out OK.

Well, this is good news for everyone, but they immediatly nix it with this:

Wrestling matches on TV just don't draw. Even when they have a strong backstory, the numbers barely go up, they stay steady at best. Casuals want soap opera, so give it to them, save the wrestling for PPVs.

Just noting, the source of this report was PWInsider - the most accurate "dirt sheet" - so there is a high chance this might be correct. I think it's quite funny though, as edginess isn't what is wrong with the current product. Also, it's rather annoying it has taken their lowest ratings in 15 years to make them realise the product has disintegrated this far, it really shows how clueless Vince really is. However, if the edginess comes with more thoughtful story lines, interesting story lines, less loop holes, a developed midcard and not spotlight only for established stars then I'm all for it.

Edginess can mean so much as well. It could just mean more interesting and deep/involving stories and not just more swearing or violence.

Last time they tried this, everyone was complaining about being it too far. :haha:

Do more Heyman fake heart attacks. :gusta:

Wonder what they're gonna do now.

I know, but an edgy main event doesn't make 3 hours of RAW good... Edginess isn't going to improve RAW as much as actual focus on interesting storylines and developing an actual midcard, because currently the audience is literally educated to only care about the established stars from the main event or just below the main event. RAW needs more segments from their YouTube channel.

Even if this doesn't solve all the problems we have it can only help, I suppose. I hope it's true.
