I'd be down for this. Never enjoyed the PPV, but I always dug the idea over a period of weeks etc.

Well 2002 was the last truly great KOTR and I know 2006 with King Booker has a few fans, but essentially it's been close to 20 years since the KOTR was really worth caring about. If they bother to actually invest a small amount of time to pick a worthwhile winner, maybe give them a guaranteed title shot, and don't strap them with a literal king gimmick after they win... maybe it'll be an okay use of TV again.

I honestly feel this is because KOTR needs to be an actual one-night show again even though some people didn't like the PPV.

When you watched a dude win 3 matches in a row on PPV to become the "King," you truly felt the importance of it.

I also agree they don't need to make them an actual King and do need to give them a title shot for the win again.

That is true, I think I just didn't like it as a PPV because my parents would only invest in so many PPVs per year. So I couldn't justify King of the Ring as one of them. It is cool seeing someone have the stamina to go all the way in three matches.

If nothing else it needs to culminate on a PPV. Ideally something like SummerSlam so that there's a sense of importance about it. As in, reaching the finals also guarantees you a singles match on a major PPV.

Yeah the King gimmick is terrible. Booker did the best with it, but overall it's a shit idea. A badass winning it would be cool. I wouldn't mind seeing a belt to go along with it that a manager could carry.

WIth the current network concept, a one night KOTR makes a lot more sense to me bc it's not a whole PPV to buy anyway so yeah I'm all for it. Sometimes it would be a weaker "standard PPV" but I've been begging WWE to do better network special concepts lol

Also Xavier for king
