Variety is reporting that WWE has hired former Reveille and Warner Brothers executive Eric Pankowski as Senior Vice President of creative and development.

Pankowski will be responsible for WWE’s TV creative development, including reality and kids programming. He will manage the creative team as well as oversee the sale of programming to networks, studios and other distributors.

What ever happened to employing wrestling writers to book a wrestling show? Leave this guy to deal with Bugs Bunny and get someone who understands the business in.

I think he's mainly being used for the network shows. The reality program and some of the "kids shows". But if he does have any creative impact on the actual WWE shows, then I completely agree with you.

There's a difference between writers and bookers, my friend.

Book
a term that refers to the predetermined nature of wrestling and the logistics of executing same. The person in charge of setting up matches and writing angles is "the booker."[1] It is the wrestling equivalent of a screenwriter.

A booker is still a writer for the show.
