Hey all,

So my boyfriend is huge into WWE and I would love to surprise him by getting into it myself. I just have no idea where to begin.....I apologize if there's already a thread on newbs and wrestling, my phone is difficult to navigate with on this site.

Any pointers or sites you think that would help, would be awesome and greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums! If you want to get into WWE specifically I'd say browse the General WWE, RAW, and PPV sections for the lastest rumors and topics of interest.

Honestly now is the perfect time to get into it because a brand split is happening and the two main shows, RAW and Smackdown, are becoming there own seperate things with potentially there own continuity.

And that’s the bottom line: A beginner’s guide to the WWE

and if you want to know what a good match normally contains. Watch Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels at WM 25 or Punk vs Cena at MITB. You're welcome. :sandow:

But...Taker vs Shawn though.
That was one of the few things that was not bad. Almost everything else was terrible.
The thing is that I became a fan in 2010,I've tried to watch some shows before that and Raw and Smackdown were so awful. Right now the program is not much different but the talent is multiple times better.

What helped me get into it was the story lines. Find a story line you enjoy and follow it. They make the matches more interesting. Watching just matches can get boring IMO unless you are invested in the wrestler as a fan (I always want Brock to win for example, don't care how crappy the story line is). You don't have to be a smark/mark or serious fan to enjoy it either. There are quite a few casual fans on this forum, myself being one of them. The PPV's like Royal Rumble can be fun to watch as well as you and your boyfriend can actually predict who will come out next, make a game of it. Just a few suggestions. Don't force yourself to enjoy it if you come to find out it is not your cup of tea.

Do you mean story lines between the characters and their own backgrounds? I'm at the end of the Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels match which I found to be pretty damn entertaining. I definitely am one to give things a try but yeah for sure, if it's not my cup of tea, i'll pour it out ;)

Yeah like when they get a good feud going, it makes the matches exciting to watch, at least for me. If I am not into the story line, I don't enjoy the match nearly as much.

Just learn about 2 people and he will love you forever.

Cena and Reigns. If you know those names... You'll know that they win, especially cena. That's the WWE.

Lol just start watching Raw and Smackdwn and start watching some mania PPvs on the network. Start at 20 and work your way up.
