Certainly looks like Summerslam was Bret's PPV.

Some of these matches are baffling tbh, Austin getting his neck broke and going home early? Austin getting knocked out from a botched backdrop in 98? Or even that Triple threat in 99? Damn, not a good event for Steve Austin the more you think about it.

Austin/Kurt not even making the list :TI:
That DQ finish? Fuck that. Eclipsed by that match they had at the next PPV, before they fucked up Angle by turning him like a draidle a million times.

Tajiri/X-Pac or Van Dam/Hardy that same year could've been on that list.

i disagree the finish was fine it really brought to like Austin was this psycho bastard that knew on that night he couldn't beat Kurt and would do everything he could to keep what he sold his soul for. As for the rest of the match it made Kurt look like a complete bad ass kicking out of 3 stunners, blood pouring out of his head after being thrown 4/5 times into the post. The whole match is just beyond spectacular, total Austin carry job too.

Just think this was wasted finish for Angle, he should've won. Too bad he went back to that Howdy Doody goof who drank milk and joined The Alliance, then turned his back on Austin only to do some weird double turn the next night.

Heel turn was the stupidest thing ever, and then they tried to justify it the night after SSeries saying Kurt was a mole working for Vince the whole time :TI:

Title was vacant from that no contest between Trips and HBK at Mania 20 until the next Monday after Summerslam.

Didn't mind the finish to Austin/Angle but the match itself was not that great and doesn't belong on this list IMO.
