WWE Opens New Developmental Territory in Tampa, Fla.

STAMFORD, Conn., November 19, 2007 - World Wrestling Entertainment(r) is proud to announce the formation of Florida Championship Wrestling, a new training center for future WWE Superstars. The official developmental territory is scheduled to be fully operational by December 2007.

“Florida Championship Wrestling will serve as a training ground for the WWE Superstars and Divas of the future,â€￾ said John Laurinaitis, Senior Vice President, Talent Relations. “FCW is building a top-notch facility in the heart of Tampa Bay that has the capacity to groom our vast crop of rising Superstars.â€￾

FCW’s training facility is being expanded to 10,000 square feet, and will include a 300-seat arena. The rejuvenated training facility will also host a weekly show in front of a live audience to be broadcast for regional television. Currently, the facility operates with four rings in which it trains 35 contracted athletes. WWE plans to increase that number to more than 60 in the near future.

WWE has contracted with WWE Legend and former Superstar Steve Keirn to operate the territory. WWE trainer Tom Prichard will oversee all talent training.

FCW is located at 4535 S Dale Mabry Rd in South Tampa. More information is available at fcwwrestling.com.

I heard plans that they were wanting to open up some territories outside of The US. I sure as hell hope they open one in the UK as I will definitely join when I'm old enough!!

This is really old news. They've already had a few shows. Roderick Strong was at the first official one. (The guy in my sig) Just visiting though, because its very close to FIP, full impact pro. Sonny Siaki was there too, before he was canned. Carlito wrestled there. Ted Diabase Jr. (who i think will be big in the future, like world champ) TJ Wilson, Harry Smith, Kofi Kingston. Well heres a link to their roster

I think they are now better than OVW, but OVW does have Colt and Burchill.

^^And they got Matt Sydal

As Montana said this is ld news, FCW's been running for a while after DSW parted ways with WWE but the news hat they are expanding the facility seems pretty good seeing as it is helping train the stars of the future. Marvel, I completely agree with you about the UK territory, I'd love to get spotted and get offered a contract for them if they ever make one.

Really, really, really old news. God, FCW's been around for a long time. IDK why WWE would just announce this :dunno:

As everybody said, FCW's been around since the summer so this is REALLY old news, also is it me or have you done this many times in the past. Makes me wonder if you actually keep up with wrestling.

Yer, don't count on it. WWE don't just hand out contracts on a plate.

Isn't this old news? I thought Afa Jr. was in there for awhile, and he was developmental. Eh, oh well. Glad to see WWE have a chance to get good talent for once!
