WWE and MGM team up for American Gladiators reboot

WWE and MGM are partnering up for a reboot of the 90's television show American Gladiators.

Deadline reported this morning that this will be a reimagined version of the competition series that will feature “a slew of WWE wrestling superstars”. Both MGM and WWE will serve as executive producers on the project. The show is currently being pitched to broadcasters and other platforms.

The original series ran between 1989 and 1996 in syndication. The show was later rebooted in 2008 with Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali serving as hosts. That incarnation of the series lasted two seasons.

Other upcoming non-wrestling WWE projects include a Netflix interactive film called Escape The Undertaker which premieres on October 5, and a Blumhouse TV scripted series called The United States of America vs. Vince McMahon, which will focus on the 1994 steroid distribution trial of McMahon. A ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on American Gladiators is also in development.

Yeah, or some similar type of knockoff. I remember TNA plugging it hard when he debuted there forever ago lol

Nick Aldis was Oblivion in the UK Reboot Series - he was literally the best thing about the show.
