Monday Night Raw
(Episode #1471)
August 2, 2021
Allstate Arena - Chicago, Illinois

To kick off Raw live from the Allstate Arena, The Hurt Business appeared on stage in front of a frenzy of Chicago fans, who were chanting the name of their second city saint, CM Punk. The group paid no mind to the crowd as they made their way down to the ring. On commentary, Jimmy Smith welcomed us to the show, laying out a couple of guesses as to what The Hurt Business will say to address the crowd. Graves chimed in saying there’s no better way to open the show than with the dominant WWE Champion, The All Mighty, Bobby Lashley. Once in the ring, MVP is handed a microphone and gets down to business. MVP began by saying he’s sick of the fans, especially the fans from Chicago, which garnered him some loud boos. He continued by saying because of all of them, Keith Lee came back from a serious ailment that could prove life threatening. He says he feels sorry for Keith because he’s putting his body on the line for people who don’t give a damn about him. He called Keith a nice guy, not wishing the beating from the All Mighty unto him, which is what will happen if Keith doesn’t call off this match.

This prompted Keith Lee to make an appearance much to the enjoyment of the crowd. Keith says even if he wanted to, he couldn’t back down because that’s not the type of man he is. He’s all heart and needs to do this not just for the fans, but for himself. Switching gears, the Limitless One says he remembers the Montel Vontavious Porter of old, one of, if not the greatest United States Champion this company has ever seen. Now, MVP has fallen so far from glory and that now, all MVP does is run his mouth and hide behind The Hurt Business.

MVP responded by saying he can bring back the MVP of old any time he wants to and that even with a bad knee, he’ll kick Keith’s ass all over the Allstate Arena. A smile can be seen on Keith’s face, prompting him to challenge MVP to a match tonight. MVP chuckled, asking Keith if he thinks he can goad him into a match. That’s when Lashley tapped MVP on the shoulder. The entire Hurt Business - Lashley, MVP, Benjamin, and Alexander huddle together and talk things out until finally, MVP emerges from the huddle informing Keith he’s on for a match tonight!

In the back, Styles is telling Omos off, blaming him for his loss against Orton last week. He says he was the sole reason for Omos’s win against Riddle and how he’s a big dumb goof for not being able to return the favor. Omos balls his fist, staring down Styles, but Styles isn’t done. He reminds Omos of taking him in and giving him a shot when no one wanted to deal with him. Omos backs down but not before Styles tells him that a couple more screw ups and they’re done.

[1] Damien Priest vs. AJ Styles w/Omos (Pick Your Poison Match): Saxton on commentary, reminds us that Styles is Sheamus’s pick your poison opponent for Priest tonight. In a rather competitive match, both combatants laid it all out in the ring in a match that went for about 14 minutes. The turning point of the match came when Styles tried to deliver the Styles Clash. However, with Styles facing where Omos was standing at ringside and being so close to the ropes, Priest grabbed onto Omos, preventing Styles from hitting the Styles Clash, forcing Styles to let go of the move. Styles berates Omos for the disruption long enough for Priest to catch a breather. As Styles turned around, he was met with a thunderous sitout chokeslam from Priest, who then secured the pinfall victory.

Frustration is evident on Omos’s face as he heads up the ramp, shaking his head at Styles. The cameras pick up Styles in the corner, breathing heavily, glaring at Omos.

The cameras go backstage with Sarah Schreiber, who has the United States Champion, Sheamus, with her. Schreiber says things seemingly didn’t go to plan with Priest picking up the victory over his chosen opponent in AJ Styles. Sheamus sarcastically thanks Sarah for pointing out the obvious. He assumed the tag team champions were competent enough to get the job done, but with their ongoing issues, he believes their title reign is coming to an end. Despite the loss, Sheamus isn’t worried because all it takes is one Brogue Kick to Priest’s stupid face to put him down.

AD_4nXdLZ9U9uUMKONdZwWA-ABUTLNJZtjHzc3bq1v2FNOkQHailFOE9iUxE_9gVP_3EwoCzTLMgT0BBjio2-yyo8pXgzzU8pITRnZmVATLVXmE2Jb_pgn0mvr45qQID3_op6-_5gxIp-JhGzGVGXqZrYv7ukunP

Back from the break, we return to see a glimpse of the barely night sky, with purple and orange hues. The scene arrives at a campfire where the sound of a guitar melody gets louder the closer the camera pans in. Nothing but subtle hums are heard from the man playing the guitar, his back turned to the camera. Suddenly, a rapid montage of highlight reels from past matches begins to play on the screen. It’s hard to decipher the people in the reels, but that seems to be the point of it all. Just as the montage started to play, it ended almost as quickly when a harmonica started to play. With the camera zooming out, it’s revealed that a man with dark brown, unkempt shoulder-length hair has joined the man playing the guitar. He plays his harmonica to match the tune of the guitar as the video fades.

[2] Piper Niven vs. Shayna Baszler w/Nia Jax: Shayna was on the hunt as soon as the bell rang, keeping Piper off-balanced. Taking a more methodical approach, frustrated Piper, who was not having a good time. However, with the Chicago crowd cheering on a comeback, Piper began gaining confidence and eventually scored a near fall. At ringside, Nia Jax had seen enough, pulling referee Charles Robinson out of the ring after Piper hit a running Crossbody onto Shayna, resulting in a disqualification.

But the heels didn’t care about the result, they cared about inflicting pain onto Piper to teach her a lesson. The Chicago crowd began to buzz when Nikki ASH came running down the ramp to make the save. However, Shayna and Nia would exit the ring before Nikki could get to them. Nikki approached Piper to check on her, extending a hand, but Piper quickly retreated under the ring. On commentary, Saxton brought up the point of Piper not knowing Nikki’s intentions with her and because of Piper’s previous affiliation with people like Eva Marie, she’s not trusting just anyone.

AD_4nXdLZ9U9uUMKONdZwWA-ABUTLNJZtjHzc3bq1v2FNOkQHailFOE9iUxE_9gVP_3EwoCzTLMgT0BBjio2-yyo8pXgzzU8pITRnZmVATLVXmE2Jb_pgn0mvr45qQID3_op6-_5gxIp-JhGzGVGXqZrYv7ukunP

[3] Drew McIntyre vs. Shanky w/Veer and Jinder Mahal: Sonya was on commentary for the match doing some “scouting” in her words. With Jinder and Veer at ringside, Drew knew he was at a disadvantage going into the match. Shanky frustrated Drew constantly rolling to the outside to regroup with Jinder and Veer. That’s when Drew decided enough was enough when he went outside to take everyone out with a Claymore! Claymore to Veer! As he sets up for a Claymore for Jinder, Jinder pulls Shanky in his way - Claymore to Shanky! He then does a kip-up much to the enjoyment of the Chicago crowd as Jinder watches from a safe distance up the ramp. Drew throws Shanky back in the ring before pointing to Jinder, signaling this Claymore is for him - and hits another onto Shanky for the win.

After being announced the winner, Drew celebrated with the crowd but things took a turn when Veer entered the ring and attacked Drew. Jinder joined in on the beat down as well. Before long, the crowd began to buzz as the Street Profits ran down to make the save causing Jinder and Veer to retreat and retrieve Shanky as they exited through the crowd. Drew shakes hands with Ford and Dawkins for the save when Adam Pearce makes an appearance, much to the surprise of Sonya. He announced that he’s glad Drew and Street Profits are getting along nicely because Sonya’s looking at the first three members of Team Pearce with Drew as captain of his team. Sonya is pissed as the cameras catch her reaction. She takes off her headset and stares down Pearce who shrugs at her as we go to commercial.

AD_4nXdLZ9U9uUMKONdZwWA-ABUTLNJZtjHzc3bq1v2FNOkQHailFOE9iUxE_9gVP_3EwoCzTLMgT0BBjio2-yyo8pXgzzU8pITRnZmVATLVXmE2Jb_pgn0mvr45qQID3_op6-_5gxIp-JhGzGVGXqZrYv7ukunP

Back from the break, we’re in the GM’s office where we see Sonya telling off Pearce. “Oh you think you can embarrass and upstage me like that, Adam? You’re playing a dangerous game with me,” Sonya says in an upset tone. Adam replies saying these are moves that will benefit him and it’s part of the game. “Just you wait, Adam. I’ve got some things in the works as well,” Sonya said before storming out of the office.

A video package began to play of Kay Lee Ray’s impressive stint in NXT UK. The montage highlights her battles against the likes of Toni Storm, Piper Niven, Jinny, and Meiko Satomura during her historic 649-day reign as NXT UK Women’s Champion as well as being the first British-born person to win the title.

[4] Kay Lee Ray vs. Mandy Rose w/Dana Brooke: In her debut match, KLR showed why she’s a force to be reckoned with in the women’s division. Starting off strong with her finisher, the KLR Bomb, only for Mandy to roll out of the ring. When KLR followed Mandy to the outside, she was greeted by Dana, who received a superkick for her troubles. KLR returns to the ring waiting for Mandy and Dana to get up. As soon as they do, KLR shows her athletic ability, quickly scaling the turnbuckles in one motion and hitting a Swanton Bomb onto Mandy and Dana. With the crowd on her side, KLR looks to finish the match, throwing Mandy back in the ring. Here, she sets Mandy up for the KLR Bomb (Gory Bomb) once again and hits it for the 1-2-3!

The cameras cut to the backstage area where Sarah Schreiber is standing with her guest, Charlotte Flair, who has been watching the KLR match on a monitor and looks unimpressed. Schreiber questions Charlotte’s focus as of late, bringing up the point that she seems more focused on Kay Lee Ray rather than the Raw Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley. Charlotte responds, saying her focus on Rhea Ripley and the Raw Women’s Championship is unwavering and that KLR is not worth her attention, but if she continues to interfere in her business, she’ll have no issues taking her down too.

AD_4nXdLZ9U9uUMKONdZwWA-ABUTLNJZtjHzc3bq1v2FNOkQHailFOE9iUxE_9gVP_3EwoCzTLMgT0BBjio2-yyo8pXgzzU8pITRnZmVATLVXmE2Jb_pgn0mvr45qQID3_op6-_5gxIp-JhGzGVGXqZrYv7ukunP

[5] Ricochet vs. John Morrison: This was the rubber match between these two amazing athletes. Early on, no one could get anything going because of their familiarity with one another. That would change when Morrison’s tag team partner, The Miz, came down to the ring. Despite a brief hesitation with Miz’s antics, Morrison showed his true colors when he took advantage every time Miz interfered. However, Morrison wasn’t able to lay Ricochet out for the count despite the advantages. The turning point of the match came when referee Rod Zapata had enough of the Miz and threw him out of the match. Ricochet would make sure Miz was out of commission for good. On his exit from the ring, Ricochet leaped over Morrison, and dove onto the unsuspecting Miz, garnering oohs and ahhs from the Chicago crowd. Ricochet hurriedly slid between Morrison’s legs to get back in the ring. When he turned around, Ricochet connected with a high knee followed by a back suplex before scaling the turnbuckle and hitting the 630 senton for the pinfall victory.

Backstage we hear a commotion of someone grunting and writhing in pain. “Get the doc!” screamed Matt Riddle. When the cameras arrive at the scene, we see Orton on the floor clutching at his ribs. “It was Omos,” Orton managed to say through the pain. Riddle assures him they’ll get him back for this.

AD_4nXdLZ9U9uUMKONdZwWA-ABUTLNJZtjHzc3bq1v2FNOkQHailFOE9iUxE_9gVP_3EwoCzTLMgT0BBjio2-yyo8pXgzzU8pITRnZmVATLVXmE2Jb_pgn0mvr45qQID3_op6-_5gxIp-JhGzGVGXqZrYv7ukunP

The crackling of fire fills the scene as the camera pans closer. T-Bar’s mask lies engulfed in flames. The man known as T-Bar steps into view and declares, "T-Bar is gone. Donovan Dijakovic is here." The words "Next Week" appear on the screen then dissolve like embers from a fire.

[6] Rhea Ripley vs. Tamina w/Natalya: It’s a Champion vs. Champion match and it’s as hard hitting as ever which is not surprising seeing the combatants involved. Tamina was aggressive early, hitting multiple Samoan Drops as well as a Superkick that almost gave her the victory. However, Ripley would get things in gear after a failed splash by Tamina from the top rope and that was the beginning of the end for one half of the women’s tag team champions. In an impressive feat of strength, Ripley would hit her Riptide Pumphandle Slam for the three count.

After the match, Ripley and Tamina shake hands in a show of respect when the women’s Money in the Bank briefcase holder, Liv Morgan, appears on stage, holding up her briefcase for Ripley to see. The champion and briefcase holder mouth off at one another as we’re taken to a commercial break.

AD_4nXdLZ9U9uUMKONdZwWA-ABUTLNJZtjHzc3bq1v2FNOkQHailFOE9iUxE_9gVP_3EwoCzTLMgT0BBjio2-yyo8pXgzzU8pITRnZmVATLVXmE2Jb_pgn0mvr45qQID3_op6-_5gxIp-JhGzGVGXqZrYv7ukunP

Smith tells us security footage was obtained to tell us a better story of what happened to Randy Orton earlier. We cut to grainy backstage footage where Orton is seen making his way back to his locker room before Omos attacks him from behind, driving Orton’s shoulder to the wall. With crates and other equipment filling the hallway, Omos made sure to make good use of them as he threw Orton into a pile of crates. Orton attempts to fight back despite clutching his shoulder. His efforts would prove futile as Omos lifts him with both hands around his neck before dropping him back down onto a nearby table.

[7] Sheamus vs. ??? (Pick Your Poison Match): Graves on commentary informs us that Orton was Priest’s pick to be Sheamus’s opponent but because of the footage we just saw, Priest needed to pick a new opponent. Sheamus’s new opponent turns out to be - Jeff Hardy! Starting quickly, Hardy makes use of his speed advantage, keeping Sheamus off balanced. Things would change when Sheamus caught Hardy with a backbreaker. From there, Sheamus focused on the Charismatic Enigma’s back, trying to eliminate the Swanton Bomb. Being the fan favorite that he is, Hardy made a comeback, even getting a nearfall after a Whisper in the Wind took down the Celtic Warrior. After a swift Twist of Fate, Hardy struggled to climb the turnbuckles because of Sheamus’s focused attack on his back. Sheamus played possum allowing Hardy to hit the Swanton Bomb… on his lifted knees! With Hardy writhing in pain, Sheamus sets up and hits a Brogue Kick for the pinfall victory.

After the match, the cameras go backstage with Sarah Schreiber once again, this time, with Damian Priest. Schreiber asked Priest his thoughts on the match just now and how he chose Jeff Hardy on short notice. Priest says Hardy put up a hell of a fight despite coming short of the win. He continued by saying Hardy was the one who approached him to fight Sheamus because of wanting to get back on track and a win against the current United States Champion would’ve done that. Priest says the match taught him a few things about Sheamus, but he’s unwilling to share those secrets before walking off the scene.

AD_4nXdLZ9U9uUMKONdZwWA-ABUTLNJZtjHzc3bq1v2FNOkQHailFOE9iUxE_9gVP_3EwoCzTLMgT0BBjio2-yyo8pXgzzU8pITRnZmVATLVXmE2Jb_pgn0mvr45qQID3_op6-_5gxIp-JhGzGVGXqZrYv7ukunP

The cameras pick up Miz and Morrison arguing with one another in their locker room. Morrison is upset at the loss to Ricochet and feels like Miz being at ringside took his focus away from the match. Miz berated Morrison for thinking that way, stating Morrison’s been at his most successful because of Miz and if there’s anyone to be upset with, it should be with himself. “We’re done,” Morrison said in a serious tone, taking his luggage, brushing past Miz to exit the locker room.

With Summerslam a few weeks away, the commentary team ran down the Raw side of things for the big summer show. Smith begins with a match of epic proportions when Team Sonya faces off against Team Adam to see who stays General Manager for the foreseeable future. In a match just confirmed tonight, Smith says RK-Bro are getting their shot at the Raw Tag Team Championships against AJ Styles and Omos. Saxton followed with the United States Championship match pitting the champion, Sheamus, versus Damien Priest. Next, Graves says things are getting heated between the Raw Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley, and her challenger Charlotte Flair and how you don’t want to mess with the Queen. Finally, Smith advertises the biggest match involving the WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley, versus a man who recently came back from a life threatening injury, Keith Lee.

[8] Keith Lee vs. MVP w/The Hurt Business: As soon as the bell rang, a staredown ensued between MVP and Keith. On commentary, Lashley says he hopes Keith isn’t underestimating MVP tonight because it will be a costly mistake if he does. With a nod of his head, Alexander and Benjamin each took a side, climbing onto the apron. Before anything could happen, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods run down to even the odds as we head to a commercial break.

AD_4nXdLZ9U9uUMKONdZwWA-ABUTLNJZtjHzc3bq1v2FNOkQHailFOE9iUxE_9gVP_3EwoCzTLMgT0BBjio2-yyo8pXgzzU8pITRnZmVATLVXmE2Jb_pgn0mvr45qQID3_op6-_5gxIp-JhGzGVGXqZrYv7ukunP

Back from the break, Keith is dominating MVP, having just delivered a thunderous powerslam that gets him a two count. On commentary, Smith informs us that Big E called in a favor with his New Day brethren to aid Keith in case he needed it against the Hurt Business. Seeing things turn dire, MVP would greet Keith with a poke in the eye, backing the big man down in the corner as he received a scolding from referee Chad Patton. MVP used his striking ability to floor the big man, posing for the crowd much to their chagrin. Going back to the corner, MVP laid the boots onto Keith. He reared back and did a drive-by kick right to the side of Keith’s head. Next, MVP went into his bag of tricks, looking to hit the Ballin’ Elbow, but without the theatrics - he connects! But only gets a two count! MVP began slapping Keith around, which only enraged the big one. When he got Keith to his feet, Keith screamed in his face, ignoring MVP’s attempt at a shoulder block. MVP tried it again but again it didn’t affect the Limitless One! MVP tried a third time, but this time, Keith pounced him away. Looking to rebound off the ropes, Benjamin grabs Keith’s foot, causing him to fall. A few seconds later, Kingston and Woods are brawling with Alexander and Benjamin!

On commentary, Lashley is heard removing his headset to help his Hurt Business brethren. In the ring, MVP began connecting with some clubbing blows to the back of Keith, setting him up for the Playmaker (Overdrive, leg-assisted neckbreaker). However, Keith’s massive neck prevents this from happening, reversing it into a Spirit Bomb - NO! Lashley spears Keith in half before Keith can drop MVP with the Spirit Bomb!

The match is called off by referee Chad Patton, but that doesn’t stop Lashley. With Kingston and Woods taken care of on the outside, Lashley begins directing traffic, telling Alexander and Benjamin to remove the protective padding in front of the ramp. Lashley throws Keith outside where MVP gets a couple of shots in. With the exposed concrete ready for whatever Lashley’s planning next, Alexander and Benjamin lift Keith to his feet. In an impressive feat of strength, Lashley carries all 340 pounds of Keith back-first onto his right shoulder before slamming him down sideways with the Dominator Powerslam!

Referees began to surround Keith, waving off the Hurt Business to stop their carnage. MVP grabs the WWE Championship and hands it to Lashley, who raises it in the air for everyone to see. The Chicago crowd boo the Hurt Business excessively. Graves puts over the godly strength that Lashley possesses and with the Hurt Business by his side, he questions if there’s anyone that can take the WWE Championship away from Lashley. Smith, surprisingly agrees with Graves, but doesn’t discount Keith’s heart and drive to become the next WWE Champion. He thanks everyone for their time tonight and signs us off with the final image of the night being the Hurt Business standing tall on top of the ramp.

END.

BTBer’s Note: Well, this is a surprise. Definitely glad to be back writing this BTB with Deco and LG (Looking Glass). Despite trying to start other BTBs, I always came back to wanting to do this. There’s a good bunch of this project planned, so I’m hoping we can continue the momentum we currently have. Hope you enjoy this episode of Raw. It’s awesome to be back!

I love how you start with the EST as champion as she is so good with gold around her waist
Zelina knew what was coming next and tried a desperate attempt to interfere only for Bianca to use Carmella like a ram and knock Vega off the ring apron and to the flooring before delivering the KISS OF DEATH!! Bianca then scoring with the pin! One! Two! Three! Only Bianca can win like that taking two out at a time.

The crowd cheer for Bianca as Referee Jessika Carr raises her arm in victory yes yes yes.

Standing strong despite being surrounded by jealous girls

July 30, 2021

Bianca Belair being a great ringside champion supporting the faces.

Bianca saw it coming, running around ringside and yanking the heel out of the hand of Carmella before throwing it into the crowd as ‘Mella would throw a fit ha Bianca always watching and looking out.

Bianca says that as of day she's celebrating surpassing 100 days as Smackdown Women's Champion! Bianca thanks the fans and the WWE Universe for their support and says that without them, this would not be possible! Bianca continues on to say that she stands here so proud to be the Smackdown Women's Champion and that she wants to deliver the BEST matches for the WWE Universe!

Babyface pop from the crowd in attendance. I agree congrats EST.

"I don't care if you're from Smackdown! If Ya'll are comin' from Raw! Or if you are stepping up from NXT! All you gotta' do is bring your A-Game because you already know I'm gon' bring mine!" - Bianca Belair brilliant words.

Bianca continues to nod and smiles back before mouthing "Okay, Okay, I see you" nice words by Liv but at the end of the day she will be living a loss at the hands of a Bianca Belair .

News & Rumours
August 2021 Edition.

CM Punk returning?

CM-Punk-Pipebomb.jpg

August 02 seen Monday Night Raw hailing from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, and as predicted, the show opened with the rowdy locals chanting the name of one CM Punk! The "Second City Saint" is of course a proud Chicago native and an icon of his city but his name has often be chanted in times of crowd frustration be it with the creative or direction of the company - This time though Raw was a well received show and it's led many to speculate that CM Punk could be returning to the WWE 10 years on from the "pipe-bomb" heard around the world.

However the reality is that the WWE is no longer the only game in town, and with Vince McMahon still around and key figures like Paul Levesque gaining more and more control - It's understood that such problems that caused CM Punk to walk out on the #1 wrestling promotion in the world still remain and that it's more likely that should CM Punk ever return to the squared circle, it will be with Tony Khan's upstart promotion of All Elite Wrestling!

Tony Khan has shown a willingness to pursue 'big name' free agents and with the likes of Matt & Nick Jackson actively pushing to sign the 'Voice of the Voiceless' there's every reason that another "Summer of Punk" could be upon us with CM Punk becoming "All Elite" and spearheading the challenge to battle World Wrestling Entertainment for the top spot.

Adam Cole, leaving, Bay-Bay?

d7bbb8a22122c10c-1200x675.jpg

Adam Cole has not been seen on WWE Tv since his final appearance for NXT on the 06 July "End of the Line" special where he was defeated by former Undisputed member and friend, Kyle O'Reilly! The match was seen as the perfect closure for Adam Cole within NXT with many believing that the natural progression would then see him called up to the Main Roster and debut with either Raw or Smackdown. However we can confirm that as of this writing - Adam Cole's future is very much undecided with his contract expiring at the end of this month (August)

The feeling backstage is that while Adam Cole has fans in the form of Paul Levesque, William Regal and Adam Pearce, he does not have the full backing of Vince McMahon and key people around him like Bruce Prichard or Michael Hayes. It is believed that with World Wrestling Entertainment often referred to as the "Land of the Giants" - Adam Cole is too small to make an impact on either Raw or Smackdown despite being appreciated for his wrestling ability.

With Adam Cole's contract set to expire, and with no resolution appearing close - It is fought that Adam Cole could leave WWE entirely as a hot free agent and join his Girlfriend, Britt Baker in All Elite Wrestling. Adam Cole has never shied away from questions around AEW with his real life friends and girlfriend wrestling for the promotion and has often spoken very positively about the promotion.

SummerSlam & High Stakes

OIP.xITJBnU8ml3tALTGXvgp1gAAAA

The 34th annual SummerSlam professional wrestling pay-per-view is almost upon us with the "Hottest Party of the Summer" only a matter of a few weeks away. Due to April's WrestleMania 37 having to be held at a reduced capacity because of the COVID-19 pandemic, SummerSlam is being heavily promoted as WWE's "biggest event of 2021" and with good reason. The show will emanate from Allegiant Stadium , Paradise, Nevada and is currently on course to be close to a complete sell out with only a couple of hundred tickets still remaining.

It is expected that SummerSlam will host upwards to around 50,000 fans in attendance and with speculation that Roman Reigns vs John Cena for the WWE Universal Championship will be the main attraction - there is no surprise that wrestling fans from around the world will gather once again to sample the occasion live in Nevada!

It should also be noted that not only will the rosters of Raw & Smackdown be in town - but NXT is also set to takeover Nevada with High Stakes live from Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas! Playing on the Vegas theme, NXT have already announced ahead of time that NXT North American & NXT Champion Bronson Reed will put it all on the line against the Million Dollar Champion LA Knight! Winner takes all.

WWE, Shake up?

On the July 23 episode of Smackdown it was announced by Adam Pearce that Mr McMahon had decided that he wanted to "shake up" the WWE and by doing so the first Monday Night Raw & First Friday Night Smackdown of the same week following SummerSlam would see a mini draft take place where members of the Raw & Smackdown brands would be open to moving to the opposite brand creating some buzz and excitement coming out of SummerSlam. Latest rumours have suggested that while this is all story line, the real 'shake up' is happening in real time with speculation rife that World Wrestling Entertainment could be going through a phase of transition and that the company is possibly gearing up for a full sale.

d9ae5-16734431775199-1920.jpg

It seems almost unthinkable that anyone other than Vince McMahon or at least a McMahon could own the WWE but many experts believe that with the WWE making high profile budget cuts as of late, with mass releases taking place in mid-April as they did in April 2020, another round mid-May and then the most recent releases coming in the form of Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy, Lana, Ruby Riott & Brawn Strowman that this is exactly what is about to happen.

Once source stated "You don't cut talent assets on this level unless you are trying to maximize profits before a sale,"

The source added "Braun is a legit top guy, a former world champion, and a merchandise mover. Alastair Black was getting a push on TV before his release. This is very telling."

Along with the releases of talent the WWE has also gone through major corporate restructuring that went down in May, led by WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan. Khan was brought on in August 2020, and this latest corporate makeover is not the first action of his that has fuelled rumours of a WWE sale to a company like Comcast, FOX or Disney.

Just for what it's worth, while we discuss ideas as part of the > Universe, I don't know everything that goes on with Jam and Deco's booking. Nor do I contribute to any of their shows.

[RAW - EPISODE 1469]

Man, 2021 really feels so long ago now with Bobby Lashley as champion and the Hurt Business running business over on Raw. I'm surprised no one would step up to The Almighty but I guess that just goes to show his dominance at the time. I think you've got a really strong roster, the fact you can have a fatal four way with three former world champions and Keith Lee - who had a great run in NXT - means that you've got some really good potential here.

Rhea just comes across as a best here, I like how simple her interview was, she's not looking down on her opponent or shying away from a challenge and I think that adds to her level of threat. I like that the match got some time! It would have been easy to squash Dana but allowing there to be some time gives some legitimacy to your division and your champion.

Unlike poor Garza! Haha. Drew is p*ssed and someone's got to pay for it. I would have liked to have heard Jinder's motivation more if his reasons for targeting the Scot isn't jealousy - although I suspect it very much is.

Love the backstage brawl between Sheamus and Priest. Always pop for a fire extinguisher being set off as well. The post-commercial tension with Sheamus' status for the main event being up in the air was a nice touch too.

I'm a fan of both Ricochet and JoMo, so again like that they both got time to showcase their stuff. I wouldn't have minded either man winning, I just hope that it leads somewhere. Ricochet's in ring work carries him a lot of the time but I can't remember an actual feud or promo that he's been featured in. I'm hoping you can give him something to work with, Jamhausen.

The 24/7 title! I was in the majority who hated this title but I honestly think there's ways to deal with and I think that could be really run. Although so far it's business as usual with Tozawa, R-Truth and ninjas...

The New Day get the win and as popular as they are, I do think that Kingston and Woods are another set of roster members who are resting on their laurels. They've put some fantastic matches on over the years and they can cut a good promo but it just feels like they're not as prominent as they once were (but I may be applying recency bias to how things were in 2021). A win gives them some good momentum but the main driver of the match being T-Bar ridding us of the last remnants of Retribution and changing back to Dijak(ovic) is a great move.

I completely forgot about Keith's health problems during his main roster run. I really like the candid segment and I think this really allows the audience to get behind him.

Riddle over Omos - I'm not mad! Although I'm not a fan one, I can appreciate that there was some entertainment value to RKBro.

I love Charlotte mistaking KLR for a fan, that's such a heel move. KLR hadn't long been dethrone as NXT UK Women's Champion, so I think a main roster call up is a really good move and I think this pairing for a feud gives Charlotte someone new to work with but immediately highlights KLR as a potential main player in the Raw women's division.

Oh lord, it's spooky Alexa. This felt like another match where the main aim was to fix the creative, this time with Doudrop being redeemed with the return of Piper Niven. I'm interested to see what's next for her (presumably an alliance with Nikki A.S.H.) but also curious about Alexa as it felt like some seeds were being planted.

"Walk with me" just makes me think of Twin Peaks and I LOVE Twin Peaks. Loved this vignette.

Sheamus ignoring medical advice - what could go wrong!?

I really enjoyed the main event, multi-man matches can be a bit of a clusterf*ck to write but I felt like I could follow your match overview pretty easily. I think Keith Lee is a big personal stamp on this project, showing your ambition to create new main roster stars and utilising NXT for essentially what it was created for. Orton is great but he has RKBro, Styles literally has a title already and Sheamus is embroiled in a feud with Priest, so I think Lee going on to challenge Lashley makes sense. I also like that despite the fact that he hasn't got the same tenure on the main roster as the others, Lee is a credible opponent, even next to a powerhouse like Lashley.

[SMACKDOWN - EPISODE 1144]

Bring Cena back is a big power move which I love. I really enjoyed the comment about how Reigns is 'that guy' because Cena wasn't there. It reminded me of the line of how JBL was champion because Triple H didn't want to work Tuesday nights. Roman Reigns and the Bloodline saga was an still is a huge part of the WWE storytelling but in contrast to when the project started, you've now seen 'the end' or at least the end of one chapter. I wonder how you're going to use this to put your own spin on things. Of course, the Usos are out to do Roman's bidding but a wild Edge appearance is really kicking off your post-MITB show.

I loved bridge from that opening segment into Big E's appearance. Obviously real life dealt a blow, which means we didn't get to see if Big E could be the face of the company. I don't know if he could be with Reigns dominating but that adds to the mystery as to whether you want to book Reign's title dominance your own way or do something new altogether.

I like Alpha Academy getting the victory. Street Profits are solid and are always going to have a presence in the tag division as long as they're together but I think real-life has shown just how good Otis and Gable can be when they're given the chance.

I miss the days of Conspiracy Theory Zayn. I think him interrupting Big E during his moment with the crowd would have added some real heel heat. Obviously we know E has an interesting road ahead of hm. I look forward to seeing if Zayn has anything in his future.

A SUPERSTAR SHAKE UP! I like the tension this adds to both Deville and Pearce. Drafts and shake ups can be hit or miss, so I look forward to seeing your spin on it. Also having it take place after SummerSlam adds some real hype to the post-PLE shows.

In hindsight it would have been nice to have had a promo from Carmella and Zelina, if the former was getting a title opportunity but I didn't think that you would've pulled out a shock victory over the EST either. Nice appearance from Nattie and Tamina too, keeping the heels at bay.

I appreciated the moment between Edge and Cena, I think in WWE history there was a time when were just explained away because all faces were friends and all heels were friends. Although this was respectful, I like how their history wasn't glossed over entirely.

People love a Kassius Ohno/Chris Hero return. Seriously though, I think Ohno represents what could have been and I honestly feel like the KO gimmick Owens ended up with was what they had planned for Hero. This was an interesting period for the IC title as despite being barely featured now, Crews was doing some fun stuff. I really like the use of the IC title to push stars, and I think this surprise adds some threat to Crews' reign. This episode is giving me season premiere vibes with all the big names and returns. I like how the match was booked to put Hero's dominance over but the heels still doing what they can to keep the title. I think this was a good way to use a count-out finish.

It's wild to look back at babyface Dom Mysterio!

I think you said it yourself in the match summary! The match and episode had a very big feel to it. Edge and John Cena winning is very interesting as much like Jam, you have quite a good main event/upper card roster. Cena and Edge could potentially have a claim to the title, Big E has the briefcase, and now.....KARRION KROSS! Now, obviously I knew about this given that it's an actual call up. While I did write him off before the project started, I am a big Kross fan and much like Keith Lee, I'm excited to see some NXT stars come up to the main roster and make an impact. I think we've come accustomed to people being called up to get stuck in the mid-card purgatory so the fact both of you have injected some new life is exciting.

I also think both of your shows were a nice balanced of what you want to do as bookers and what was happening at the time. Deco did pull out some big names, but they're signed names. Jam utilised some name changes but played off of pre-existing tensions to tell this story (had there not been this, I may have been more critical).

I wanted to do a massive review of all the shows so far but I also don't want to skirt over your episodes or half-ass it, so I might just try and do an episode of each brand at a time. I'm really glad it didn't go into a brand warfare straight away, you booked each show as your own thing as it would be in real life. However, I am also looking forward to things like the Shake Up, where you can collaborate and enjoy the fun of co-booking.

WWE Smackdown - #NextInLine
Episode - #1146
Amalie Arena - Tampa, Florida
August 6, 2021

It's Friday Night, we're LIVE on Fox! And it's time for Friday Night WWE Smackdown! "Are You Ready" by AC/DC sounds from the speakers as the pyro blazes around the Smackdown stage. Camera footage pans across the Amalie Arena as the light show showcases a SOLD OUT crowd from Tampa, Florida!

90

"Ladies & Gentleman! WWE Universe! Welcome to Friday Night Smackdown! This is episode #1146 on Fox and we're LIVE from the Amalie Arena! Tampa, Florida!" - Michael Cole

Before Cole can even fully finish his introduction, announce his partner at the commentary table or even run-down the card and action to come tonight he's cut-off by a very familiar theme..

THE TIME IS NOW!!

Tampa Florida explodes with cheers and a HUGE pop as the legendary John Cena steps out onto the Smackdown stage with a smile across his face as he talks to 'Stu' the cameraman as he praises the noise of the WWE Universe!

"THE GOAT IS HERE! LIVE IN THE BIG GUAVA, COLE!" - Pat McAfee

Cena runs down the ramp slapping hands with a few members of the crowd before sliding into the ring and revelling in the noise from the Tampa crowd as they're chanting "CENA! CENA! CENA" to the delight of the 16x World Champion. John Cena then reaches outside of the ring and is handed a microphone as he's about to address the WWE Universe!

john-cena-smackdown-2.jpg

John firstly thanks the WWE Universe for the response and says that NOTHING will ever beat the reaction and noise from a SOLD OUT WWE Universe making their voices heard.

Fans respond with some more cheers as John Cena tips his cap.

Cena then goes on to address the attack Post-Match from the Uso's two weeks ago, and the rejected challenge from the WWE Universal Champion; Roman Reigns last week! Cena says that Roman Reigns isn't no 'Tribal Chief' from the legendary Anoai Family! Cena says Roman is using his Bloodline and legacy to gatekeep the WWE Universal Championship! Cena then asks the Tampa crowd if they remember RIKISHI! UMAGA! OR THE ROCK! Ever using their family members to keep them at the top?!

Tampa cheering for both Rikishi & Umaga, with an even bigger pop for the mention of The Rock.

Cena then asks if the WILD SAMOANS! Roman's Uncle & Father ever backed down from a FIGHT like he's doing?!

Small pop from the crowd for the mention of the Wild Samoans, Afa & Sika.

"ROMAN! I called YOU out and you responded by sending your Cousins down to do your dirty work and then the following week you came out and REJECTED my challenge when I'm not even here? Nah dawg! That ain't no TRIBAL CHIEF! That's nothing more then a SAMOAN BITCH!" - John Cena

"OOOHHHHH" Gasps the Tampa crowd as they pop and begin chanting "SAMOAN BITCH! SAMOAN BITCH!" as John Cena just shrugs and smiles down the camera. Pat McAfee on commentary freaking out and full of excitement at John Cena's words as Michael Cole suggests Roman Reigns isn't going to forget that line any time soon.

John Cena then pushes on and says that SAMOANS aren't BUILT like that! And that he knows! John says he's grown up watching the legendary Samoans in this business! John says he fought some of the very best Samoans this business has had to offer and he's been up and down the road with many more! Cena says he has nothing but respect for the Anoai Family but Roman Reigns is a FRAUD to his own Family legacy and bloodline and that he's a FRAUD of a WWE Universal Champion to all these people and the WWE Universe!

Once more the WWE crowd are cheering and seemingly in full agreement with the future Hall of Famer as they continue to chant the name of John Cena! Cena then stares right down the camera in the ring with him and appears to have one more barb for the WWE Universal Champion as he continues on..

"Roman, if you want to REJECT my challenge for a WWE Universal Championship Match at SummerSlam! Then the very least you can do Mr 'Tribal Chief' is come down here, TAKE YOUR BALLS OUT OF HEYMANS LUNCHBOX and say it to my FACE!" - John Cena

The Amalie Arena is now at a fever pitch of noise as John Cena's stinging words ring around the arena, Michael Cole & Pat McAfee comment on the barbed words and home truths from the 16x World Champion! While there was only one man the WWE Universe wanted to see respond to Cena, it was another man that saw an oppertunity to get into the ring with John Cena, perhaps with a plan in mind.

SAD!!

Boos and jeers instantly greet the sighting of the former 'Lone Wolf' Baron Corbin! Corbin looking very sombre with his White stained shirt, receding hairline and grey ungroomed beard as he begins to stroll down the rampway with a microphone in hand before climbing the steps and entering the ring as John Cena begins to wonder what Baron Corbin wants?

"BUM-ASS CORBIN?! TAMPA WANTED THE TRIBAL CHIEF! Not the HOMELESS looking dude!" - Pat McAfee

Despite the response from the WWE Universe and the words from Pat McAfee, Baron Corbin is here and in the ring with John Cena as he begins to speak.

baron-corbin-99-happy.jpg

Baron firstly offers his apologies to John for coming out here as he knew he was expecting Roman Reigns, but that he had something to ask John Cena. Baron says that John might not be aware - but he's fallen on some hard times! Baron says that he's lost his WIFE! He's lost his KIDS! He's lost his CROWN! He's LOST.. EVERY THING! Baron says that he just needs a little help and that he knows that John Cena a GOOD guy! Corbin looks at Cena before changing his mind and changing GOOD to GREAT in hopes of getting a better reaction from Cena who continues to just watch on and let Baron speak.

"John, I know you've granted a lot of Make-A-Wishes and you're a MEGA MOVIE STAR! And I KNOW you have a LOT of Money, John! So, I was wondering John. I just need a LITTLE help! Just a couple of THOUSAND, maybe a MILLION or two, what do you say John?!" - Baron Corbin

The crowd immediately start chanting "NO! NO! NO!" over and over as Baron Corbin pleads with John Cena who now looks shocked and surprised by Corbin's request. Cena looking out towards the WWE Universe as Baron then approaches him and John Cena holds out his arm to get him to stop, wafting his nose with his hand to suggest a bad small as Baron apologises and takes a few more steps backwards.

"Couple of million? That's a ludicrous request from Baron Corbin!" - Michael Cole

"BUM-ASS Corbin would be lucky to get some deodorant to get rid of the smell around him, Cole!" - Pat McAfee

John Cena continues to think as Baron now places his hands in a prayer position and begins to almost plead with the 16x World Champion as Cena begins to dig deep into his jean shorts pocket. Cena then pulls out a couple of Dollars before walking over to Baron and placing it in Corbin's hand and attempting to exit the ring when Baron's facial expression changes to one of absolute disgust as Baron counts the money before reaching back and grabbing John Cena's arm - pulling him back.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS?! YOU'RE A MULTI-MILLIONAIRE AND YOU GIVE ME.. FIVE.. DOLLARS?! YOU'RE A DAMN CHEPSKATE CENA!" - Baron Corbin

Cena nods his head before shrugging as he attempts to leave the ring for a second time. Baron though is not giving this up and looks to pull back Cena for a second time only for Cena this time to pull him in, carry him to the middle of the ring and lay him down with the..

"ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT! CENA WITH THE ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT!" - Michael Cole

"YOU SHOULD HAVE TOOK THE MONEY, BUM-ASS CORBIN!" - Pat McAfee

The crowd pop for the "AA" from John Cena as the 16x Champion picks back up the $5 and places it back into his pocket before exiting the ring and smiling with the WWE Universe cheering his name. Smackdown heading to its first commercial break of the evening with John Cena saluting the Tampa crowd to end the segment.

The camera cuts backstage following the return from the commercial break where we see the WWE Universal Champion and the 'Tribal Chief' Roman Reigns deep in thought with the 'Special Counsellor' Paul Heyman sat by his side. The camera then pans out a little as we see Jimmy & Jey, the WWE Smackdown Tag Champions in the background. It appears the Bloodline, or more specifically Roman Reigns is watching a recap being shown of the Smackdown opening with John Cena having some harsh words to say about the Universal Champion. Roman Reigns scowling and screwing up his face as he listens to each stinging vocal barb from John Cena while Jey Uso has had enough and steps forward.

"LET'S GO GET THIS FOOL, UCE!" - Jey Uso

Jey tapping his Brother Jimmy across the chest and motioning him to follow as Jimmy does until the 'Tribal Chief' stands up and holds his arm out, placing it across the chest of Jey Uso without so much as a glance in his direction but cutting him dead in his tracks as the 'Wiseman' Paul Heyman looks on.

"What do you think you're doing?" - Roman Reigns

Jey looks at Jimmy, before looking at Paul Heyman who has worry etched across his face. Jay takes a breath before responding.

"Let me and Jimmy handle this Uce, we got you!" - Jey Uso

"Yeah Uce! We can handle Cena, we got this" - Jimmy Uso

Roman listens to what the Uso's have to say before scrunching up his face once more and then retorting.

"Handle this? Handle Cena? You mean like you did two weeks ago? What's he doing back here?! I told you to DEAL with him! And yet here is.. two weeks later, on my Island of Relevancy!" - Roman Reigns

Reigns now stares a whole right through both Jimmy & Jey Uso who have their heads down like two puppies that have been scolded by their owner for doing something wrong.

"No! I'll HANDLE this.. Like I ALWAYS do! Jey, I want you to DEAL with Big E tonight, you understand me?" - Roman Reigns

Jey Uso shuffles around before looking at his Brother who is nodding and mouthing "yes" as Jey then looks up at Roman and answers to his 'Tribal Chief' while Paul Heyman continues to watch on holding the WWE Universal Championship.

"YEET! I understand you, Uce! I'll deal with him my Tribal Chief" - Jey Uso

"Good, Good. Wiseman?!" - Roman Reigns

Paul Heyman almost stumbles over himself as he looks to get to Roman and can't answer him quick enough.

"YE-YE-YES MY TRIBAL CHIEF?!" - Paul Heyman

"I want you to get a message to John Cena. Tell him to meet me in that ring, MY ring! NEXT WEEK! Face to face!" - Roman Reigns

Paul Heyman looks slightly shocked at first before nodding and answering..

"Yes my Tribal Chief, I'll do it IMMEDIATELY my Tribal Chief!" - Paul Heyman

The footage then fades with a serious looking Roman Reigns staring out in the distance as Paul Heyman appears to be going through his phone perhaps to send a message to John Cena while the Usos are left standing in the background.

1691270828294-png.72183

The LIVE camera now returns back to ringside where Michael Cole & Pat McAfee welcome the WWE Universe back from the commercial break before discussing the BREAKING NEWS! John Cena & Roman Reigns will be face to face next week on Smackdown LIVE from the BOK Centre - Tulsa, Oklahoma! Cole & McAfee then confirm that tonight we will see the in-ring debut of Mia Yim here on Smackdown! Jay Uso will take on Big E and the Main Event will see The Mysterios, Dom & Rey vs the Alpha Academy on Otis & Chad Gable!

The camera then pans over back to the ring where Baron Corbin is still seemingly nursing his injuries from the John Cena Attitude Adjustment before the commercial break.

Baron-Corbin-Pain.jpg

"Bum-Ass Corbin still out here?!" - Pat McAfee

"Well he better get himself ready for action, Pat. He's got a one on one match with Khassius Ohno coming up NEXT!" - Michael Cole

Kassius-Ohno-vs-Baron-Corbin.png

Corbin remained aggressive through out the match and tried to stay on top of Ohno but Kassius a veteran of the ring was able to survive the early onslaught and gained control of the match when Baron Corbin got himself caught up in the ropes after a missing a big boot. Ohno then firing back with some strong forearms and strikes as he lived up to his nickname 'The KO Artist' as each one rocked Corbin before running the ropes and smashing Baron with a CYCLONE KICK!! Corbin rocked as he rolls around the ring in pain. Ohno then begins to adjust his elbow pad before waiting for Corbin to stand up and.. BANG! KO! Ohno landing the discuss elbow smash to the jaw of Corbin knocking him crumbling down before going for the cover! One! Two! Three!

KASSIUS OHNO (W) - 05:25 MATCH TIME.

"ANNDD YOUR WINNER! KASSSSIIUUSSSSSSS OHHNNOOOOOOOO!" - Greg Hamilton

Kassius Ohno stands tall after picking up his second victory here on Smackdown. Corbin has now rolled outside of the ring as he sits on the flooring slouched up against the crowd barricade as his losing streak continues. Chad Patton raises Ohno's hand in victory one more time before Smackdown goes to a commercial break.

1691270828294-png.72183

Smackdown returns back from the commercial break where we see Adam Pearce about to enter the General Managers office as he places his hand on the door handle but doesn't turn it as a voice can be heard coming from the office..

"What do you mean you can't make SummerSlam? My job is on the line! Hello? Hello?!" - ???

Adam Pearce has a rasp smile on his face as he turns the door handle and enters the office to see a flustered Sonya Deville hanging up her mobile phone and pressing it down on the desk in frustration.

"Everything.. Okay?" - Adam Pearce

Sonya doesn't reply, turning her head before the swivel desk chair spins around in front of the office desk to reveal the 'Visionary' Seth Rollins laughing.

"Seth, what are you doing in my chair?" - Adam Pearce

Rollins stands up from the chair and laughs once more before toeing towards Adam and suggests that it's not going to be HIS chair for much longer despite that little stunt he pulled on Raw with Drew McIntyre & The Street Profits. Seth says how Adam has made a HUGE mistake with his team! Seth goes on to state that Drew has his hands full with Jinder Mahal and that the Street Profits just lost last week on Smackdown!

Rollins again laughs as Adam Pearce remains calm and retorts. Pearce says that he appreciates Seth's concerns, but that he is he's happy with his team before asking where's the surprise that Sonya promised?

"It's under control. I'm just... I'm just not rushing into a decision and is evaluating my options, Pearce" - Sonya Deville

Adam again smirks.

Adam scoffs asking is that what Sonya calls it? Evaluating? Because it sounds to him like you was rejected. Adam then wishes Sonya & Seth good luck before leaving the office and on the way bumping into..

4ba11c57cc6d9f43-600x338.jpg

...Sami Zayn! Who had been listening to the conversation the whole time has the door remained open. Sami holding his hands up as he enters the room, but before he speak..

"Sami, what do you want? If this has anything to do with losing to Big E last week, or another conspiracy theory, I'm really not in the mood for it.. So please, can we do this another time?" - Sonya Deville

Sami will plea that's not the case before suggesting he couldn't help overhearing the conversation and that team Sonya is looking for some members. Sami will say that it just so happens he's free at SummerSlam, and it would be an honour to stand alongside Seth Rollins, a visionary, a revolutionary - because he's a revolutionary somewhat himself and represent his favourite ever GM, Sonya Deville!

Seth smiles as he nods his head - seemingly happy with the pitch from Sami Zayn. Sonya though will think for a moment before suggesting that unfortunately, she's currently looking for a tag team as a response to Team Pearce and Sami doesn't have a partner, in fact, I don't even think you have a friend? Sami embarrassingly laughs before suggesting there was no need for that and he has loads of friends. Sami goes on, seemingly listening random names as Seth just looks on and Sonya begins to rub her temples before finally saying..

"Enough! Sami, enough! It's a NO! Please, just.. Go!" - Sonya Deville

Sami looks at Seth, hoping for Mercy but Rollins shrugs before pointing to the door as Sami Zayn looks saddened. Sami begins to leave the room with Sonya looking to close the door behind him when Sami spins back around with his final pitch..

"WAIT! WAIT! I KNOW a guy! And he's a FRIEND! A PARTNER! We're kinda' a team!" - Sami Zayn

Sonya at this point just rubs her face in her hand before motioning for Sami to continue saying what he's got to say. Sami says that next week he will invite him on his show as a special guest, and get him to join Team Sonya! Sonya rolls her eyes before agreeing that if Sami can find an adequate partner to help her beat Adam Pearce, Sami is in! Sami then leaves all smiles as Sonya looks at Seth and Rollins just shrugs as the footage returns back to ringside.

Greg Hamilton is in the ring and introduces the WWE Universe to Tampa Bay Pro Wrestling's own: Emily Locke!

There's the smallest of cheers for the announcement of the local indy company as Emily stretches and limbers up in the corner as she awaits her opponent.

Hamilton then continues the proceedings as he introduces her opponent, and making her Smackdown debut! Mia Yim!

"ANNDDD YOUR WINNER! THE HEAD BADDIE IN CHARGE! MIIIAAAAAAAA! YIIMMMMMM!" - Greg Hamilton

Mia Yim stands over to the defeated Emily Locke as she motions that she has arrived. Cole & McAfee talk about Yim looking impressive tonight and making light work of her opponent. The footage then switches from ringside.

1691270828294-png.72183

We see Dom Mysterio sat on a steel chair in the locker room. Dom appearing deep in thought as he pulls up his kneepads and ties up his boots when he sees his Father; Rey Mysterio enter the locker room.

Rey asks his Son how he is feeling and if he is ready to face Gable & Otis of the Alpha Academy tonight? Rey says that last week they defeated the Dirty Dawgz! And if they can beat the Alpha Academy tonight, it should put them right in contention to be the #1 contenders to face the Usos!

Rey speaks with such joy and excitement in his voice while Dominik looks so unsure.

Dom says that he's feeling okay, before admitting to his Father he is nervous. Dom says how he was the one pinned at MITB, he lost the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships and last week - Rey won the match! Dom asks his father what if he lets the team down?

Rey shakes his head before mouthing "Never" as he pulls his Son in to speak to him - face to face.

"Dom. You're my Son, my Hijo! You NEVER let me down, ya hear? Win, Lose or Draw - I love you, Son" - Rey Mysterio

Dom nods his head before thanking and hugging his Father tightly. Dom finishes by saying "Lets do this!" as the two share a smile ahead of their match against the Alpha Academy tonight which Michael Cole reminds us is tonight's Main Event

1691270828294-png.72183

We're back ringside where we are almost ready for the third match of the evening as we see a recap from the earlier Bloodline segment where Roman Reigns made it clear he wanted Jey Uso to deal with the Money in the Bank briefcase holder Big E. Pat McAfee piles on the pressure as he says god help anyone who disappoints the 'Tribal Chief' before Greg Hamilton is in the ring ready to announce the next match.

Big-E-vs-Jey-Uso.png

MATCH THREE l SINGLES MATCH.
'Main Event ' Jey Uso w/ Jimmy Uso vs 'Mr Money in the Bank' Big E

Summary:
Michael Cole went over the history between Big E & Jey Uso, the history between the New Day & the Uso's as Tampa's own 'Mr Money in the Bank' Big E stood face to face with the Bloodlines 'Main Event' Jey Uso! The two men exchanging words before exploding into action! The action was physical and the pace was ferocious as the two men came close on different occasions to picking up the victory. Jey at one point thought he had the match won - slipping out of a BIG ENDING as Jimmy jumped up on the apron to cause a mini-distraction as Jey struck with a SUPER-KICK!

Big E crumbled down as Jey dropped down on top of him only to score a two-count! As this point, Jey was frustrated and getting desperate. The match clock ticking down and Jimmy would once again try to get involved in the match - only this time Big E was a step ahead of the action - avoiding another SUPER-KICK attempt, before then grabbing Jey and launching him with an overhead release that would see Jay smash into Jimmy on the ring apron and knock him down to the flooring at ringside. Big E then gripping up 'Main Event' Jey Uso and bringing him down to the canvas with a.. BIG ENDING! 'Mr Money in the Bank' then hooking the leg and picking up the win! One! Two! Three!

BIG E (W) - 11:07 MATCH TIME.

"ANNNNDDDD YOUR WINNER! MR MONEY IN THE-" - Greg Hamilton
Before Greg can finish his sentence, Jimmy & Jey are both back up on their feet and were looking to get some immediate revenge on Big E who again would see it coming as he rolled out of the ring, calling for his 'MITB' briefcase as walked back up the ramp with a big smile on his face. In the ring, the Uso's are furious, kicking the ropes and bemoaning their luck as they perhaps know the consequences they're about to face as they go back to their 'Tribal Chief' having not accomplished the goal of dealing with Big E as the WWE Universal Champion; Roman Reigns demanded.

1691270828294-png.72183

With the crowd still cheering for Big E, and Pat McAfee speculating on the consequences for 'Main Event' Jey, Michael Cole changes gears as he talks about a man who has returned back to the WWE, and is looking to tell his story. Cole says he sat down with David Hart Smith, Son of the legendary British Bulldog and a member of the iconic Hart family to discuss his heritage and his future.

Video footage then rolls on the big screen as Michael Cole is seated with his guest David Hart Smith in a close and personal interview set up segment. Cole firstly welcomes Smith and thanks him for being willing to share and tell his story. Smith quickly thanking Michael Cole for the oppertunity before the interview begins.

Cole firstly asks Smith about his name - deciding to use David Hart Smith as opposed to Davey Boy Smith Jr, and what made him decide this? Smith says he wanted to pay tribute to both sides of his heritage. Telling those that don't know his Father was the 'British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith but his Mother was Diana Hart, Daughter of the Stu Hart who he describes as the patriarch of the Hart Family. Smith then says about his Uncles, Bret & Owen. He says how it was important to him to use both names in a company where his family legacy runs so deep, ingrained in walls of the foundation's that have taken the WWE to the heights it has now become and he wants to do them all proud.

David-hart-smith+(%3Cimg%20src=

Cole then talks about this of course being the second time around for Smith, and asks why now? Why come back to the WWE after all this time and the success he's had outside of the company? Smith smiles as he talks about the Hart Dynasty! Smith says the truth is, first time he around he wasn't ready for this, for the WWE. He wasn't mature enough. He says that unlike Tyson Kidd & Natalya who have gone on to great success and have stayed here, he had to go away and find who he was - he went back home to Canada, he went across to the UK, he's wrestled all around America, and in Japan. Smith says he was a boy back then and now he's a man - he's ready for this, and when he came back to the WWE to induct his Father - It felt like coming home and this is where I belong!

David-Hart-Smith.jpg

Cole says how nice it is to have David back. Cole then asks about Smith saying he's ready this time, Cole asks if he's worried about the expectation on him? Carrying the names of Hart & Smith in the WWE and the pressure that comes with such legendary names in the wrestling business. Smith says how it's pressure he's lived with his whole life, and there's no way of escaping it. Smith says how he looks just like his Father, so it's impossible - but when he says he's matured - he's now ready to carry that mantle and has been since he left the company. Smith says the WWE is at a stage where there's so many people now here carrying legacies - Natalya, Charlotte, The Usos, Roman - And they've all had so much success in this company and now it's my time! It's my moment and I'm going to make it count.

The scene then fades from ringside and to the backstage where we Chad Gable putting his "Prized pupli" Otis to work with some last minute training drills as he squats up and down in front of "Coach" Gable. Gable then blows a whistle that was hanging around his neck before calling for time-out as Gable says it's time to go over the game plan.

"Master" Gable says how he has formulated the perfect plan and that they're going to target the weak link; Dominik Mysterio! Gable says that Otis is going to squash him like a BUG!

Otis nodding along and wide-eyed as he lets out an.. "Ohhh Yeaaaahh"

"ANNDDD, if Rey thinks he's bringing that Latino Heat - We're going to extinguish it like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hopes of winning a Championship! AHHH.. THANK YOOUUUUUUUUU!" - Chad Gable

Boos from the hometown crowd as Gable smiles.

Chad Gable then finishes his game plan speech by suggesting that when him & Otis defeat the Mysterios tonight, they will be next in line to become the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions! Gable & Otis then get back to work as Chad blows the whistle around his neck for a second time and Otis gets back to squatting.

The show returns to ringside where Apollo Crews and his "Commander" Azeez is already in the ring awaiting Apollo's opponent tonight; Rick Boogs. It's not long before Pat McAfee is up on his chair, and then on the commentary table dancing to the tune of Shinksuke Nakamura's theme as he accompanies his partner Boogs to the ring.

Michael Cole will remind us this match has come about after Apollo was berating Azeez on his loss, and while doing so took exception to Boogs & Nakamura jamming out and causing a little noise drowning out his words.

Rick-Boogz-vs-Apollo-Crews.png

MATCH FOUR l SINGLES MATCH.
Commander Azeez w/ Apollo Crews vs Rick Boogs w/ Shinsuke Nakamura

Summary:
This match was never going to be a classic and was more about the antics of Nakamura & McAfee air guitaring at ringside as the Tampa crowd continued to sing Nakamura's theme to the frustration of the Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews at ringside and the giant Azeez in the ring. Commander Azeez taking his frustration out on Rick Boogs as he throws him around the ring like a rag doll. Azeez doesn't have it all his own way though, on one occasion Boogs looking like he was going to pick up the 6ft9, 350lbs monster only for his knees to buckle and Azeez to take advantage with a huge chokeslam in the middle of the ring! Azeez then placing his foot on the chest of Boogs - One! Two! Three!

COMMANDER AZEEZ (W) - 07:39 MATCH TIME.

"ANNNDD YOUR WINNER! COMMANDER! AZEEZ!" - Greg Hamilton

Apollo orders his Commander Azeez out of the ring and to make their way back as the 'Naija King' has a ripe smile on his face as he turns to head up the ramp. Nakamura though as other ideas, running around the ring and grabbing the 'IC' Championship from the hands of Apollo and rolling in the ring with it before lifting it above his head as Tampa begin to cheer as Apollo is furious on the outside. Apollo asks for his Championship back, as Nakamura places it in the middle of the ring and motions for the.. "COOOMMMEEEEEEE OONNNNNNNN!" - Apollo now seeing red slides into the ring, gets back to his knees and looks to grab the Championship when..

"KIIINNNNSSHHAASSAAAAAAAAA! SHINSUKE JUST SUCKERED APPOLO IN WITH THE KINSHASA, COLE!" - Pat McAfee

Apollo is out as Nakamura connects with the Kinshasa as he quickly exits the ring with Rick Boogs as Commander Azeez enters to aid Apollo Crews. Azeez foaming at the mouth as he shouts back at Shinksuke to get back in the ring. Nakamura & Boogs though are all smiles as they make their way back up the ramp.

1691270828294-png.72183

Smackdown rolls on as we get a vignette from the 'Rated R Superstar' Edge! Edge appears to be in a ring at home where he's been training and fine tuning his work on this comeback. Perhaps his garage, or side building in the location of his ring as the room is dimly lit and we can just see Edge's face as his piercing focused eyes stand out as a rasped and pissed off sounding Edge is about to speak in a slow, but decisive tone..

wwe-edge.jpg

Edge mouths the name of Karrion Kross, pushing back his hair with both hands before continuing to speak. Edge says that he doesn't know if he should be annoyed or honoured that he made such a lasting impression on Karrion that both him and Scarlett have come to Smackdown over something that happened back in February last year! Edge goes on to say he gets it though, he's still a student of the game, he's been watching NXT!

"I seen the match with Bronson Reed and it was a hell of a match, but you lost, Kross! You lost your NXT Championship and then suddenly you're looking around, and you're wondering what next, right? I've been there! I was the ultimate opportunist in this business! Nobody has picked their moments better than me and it took me to the top, and I'm still here!" - Edge

Edge now more animated and fired up as he continues speaking..

"And you see that don't you Karrion? This isn't about February the 4th, 2021 - This is about you seeing me as an oppertunity to make a name for yourself on Smackdown! Plain and simple! Well I got your message loud and clear, Kross. You want to make a name off of me Kross? Over my DEAD.. BODY! Revenge is a dish best served cold and soon enough Kross you are going to get a receipt coming your way! I'll see you soon, Karrion Kross.. Real soon" - Edge

The vignette then stops with Edge's words no doubt sending a message of intent as he glass-eyed stares at the fading camera.

1691270828294-png.72183

"Oh boy, Cole. Edge is not playing around is he?" - Pat McAfee

"No, Pat. No he certaintly is not, and you know, I've known Edge a long, long time - but I haven't see that look in his eyes for the longest time and I just wonder if Karrion Kross might have lit a fire under the "Rated R Superstar" that even he's not going to be able to handle!" - Michael Cole

Michael Cole & Pat Mcafee then remind us that still to come we will have the contract signing where the WWE Smackdown Women's Champion, the 'EST' has put out an open challenge all across Smackdown, Raw, Nxt and beyond the WWE Universe that she's looking for a challenger come SummerSlam! Who's going to answer the challenge?! Cole says we're going to find out later this evening before informing the crowd watching at home that it's time for the Main Event of the evening!

Los-Mysterios-vs-Alpha-Academy.png

MAIN EVENT l TAG TEAM MATCH.
Alpha Academy (Chad Gabe & Otis) vs The Mysterios (Rey & Dominik Mysterio)

Summary:
Before the match would even begin, Pat McAfee & Michael Cole picking up on commentary the differences between the two teams and confidence going into the match. Chad Gable & Otis talking game-plan while on the other side of the ring it looked like Rey was once again trying to reassure his Son Dominik who's self-doubt has creeped in once more after taking the pin-fall at Money in the Bank and thus losing the Championships to Jimmy & Jey of the Usos.

The ring bell sounded and the action was underway! Otis & Gable controlling the early going as Dominik started the match and it was clear that he wasn't with it at all and crippled with self-doubt. Otis & Chad using quick tags to keep each other fresh and looked to have the match won on a couple of occasions only for the plucky Dominik to not give up, and kick out to the pride of his Father on the side-line who was waiting for the tag. Finally it was the for Rey to enter the match! A HOT TAG seen the worlds most famous luchador enter the match and momentum quickly swung in the favour of the Mysterios as Rey Mysterio landed a second rope bull dog on Otis before bringing down Gable with a CODE RED!

The victory for the Mysterios looked in-sight, Rey landing the 619 on Otis and going up for the splash to follow. Chad Gable on step ahead though and saving his team by pushing Mysterio as he balanced on the top rope sending Rey Mysterio to the hard flooring below as he cradled his knee. Commentary reminding us how many surgeries Rey has had on his knee and it looking like he might have tweaked or injured it one more? With Rey now essentially passenger, it was up to Dom! Dom having watched his Father crash and burn to the outside would step up. Tagging back in as it came down to him & Gable! Gable looked to Angle Slam Dom in the middle of the ring only for Dom to roll down the back of Gable and roll up the Olympian with a roll up that took Chad by surprise and got the job done to an eruption from Tampa crowd. One! Two! Three!

REY & DOMINIK MYSTERIO (W) - 15:03 MATCH TIME.

Dom looks even more surprised then Gable that he was able to secure the victory as Chad Gable & Otis both instantly surround Referee Official Jason Ayers while Rey Mysterio hobbles towards his Son and hugs him tightly! Dom hugs his Father back as the commentary put over how Dominik might have just exercised some of the demons he's been carrying regarding the loss at Money in the Bank as he just secured a HUGE victory tonight that puts them next in-line to face the Tag Champions! The Usos!

Smackdown returns LIVE on Fox as Michael Cole & Pat McAfee bring the WWE Universe's attention to inside the middle of the ring where the contract signing is ready to take place. Cole reminding us that last week WWE Smackdown Women's Champion! The EST of WWE! Bianca Belair issued as open challenge to anyone within the WWE - Be it from Smackdown, Raw or even NXT who wanted to step up and face her at the hottest party of the Summer! SummerSlam! And all they had to do was show up this week, LIVE in Tampa, Florida and sign the contract to make the match official.

We were not made to wait much longer before the EST of the WWE came strutting down the ramp with the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship and entered the ring to a chorus of cheers.

Adobe_Post_20210619_0945290.9094716207089814-1068x601.jpg

A smiling and energetic takes in the crowd cheers and applause before grabbing a microphone off the table where the contract and pen is situated and addresses the Tampa crowd and the watching extended WWE Universe.

Bianca keeps it short and to the point as she states that as Smackdown Women's Champion, she wants to make sure she's involved in the biggest and best matches she can be! And that's why with the blessing of Adam Pearce & Sonya Deville, the Raw & Smackdown General Managers - she decided to make her match and Championship defence at SummerSlam an open challenge for her WWE Smackdown Women's Championship! Bianca says the challenge can be accepted by anyone from either Smackdown! Raw! Or even NXT! Belair then places the microphone on the table and wastes no time before signing the contract to make her side official before holding up her Women's Championship, picking up the microphone once more and asking who's going to step up and challenge her at SummerSlam?!

OIP.BCy9lYGlvhheG5WSNhbLfwHaEK

Tampa was not happy, and neither was Bianca who rolled her eyes and motioned to suggest "Really" as Zelina Vega & Carmella made their way down the ramp, headed to the ring. Carmella & Zelina proving to be quite the thorn in the Champions side as they would pick up some microphones at ringside before entering the ring and giving Bianca a piece of their mind as the Champion was forced to hear them out suspecting that one of them was about to accept the open challenge and sign on to face Bianca at the upcoming Summer Pay-Per-View LIVE on the WWE Network.

Carmella speaks first and says how her and her friend Zelina is SICK of seeing Bianca Belair prance and skip around Smackdown like she owns this show! And how the crowd lap it up and pander to Bianca because they feel sorry for her because she was the UGLY DUCKLING that made it. Vega then takes over and says that her tag-team Partner - the BEAUTIFUL Carmella should be stood here RIGHT NOW as the Smackdown Women's Champion and that Natalya & Tamina came down last week to save little miss perfect Champion after the match. Zelina & Carmella then smirk as Carmella says that neither Nattie or Tamina are here tonight and that Bianca is all.. ALONE!

Bianca has had enough and the talking is OVER! The Champion placing her Championship down on the canvas before flipping the table with the contract and pen and telling both Zelina & Carmella - "LETS GO!" as she takes out her earrings and drops them to the canvas as the crowd are anticipating all hell breaking loose here in Tampa!

Carmella & Zelina then begin to circle the Champion as they look to get the jump on Bianca when...

SKYS THE LIMIT!!!

"IT'S BOSS TIME! SASHA BANKS IS HERE!" - Michael Cole

Tampa Florida goes CRAZY as the 'Blueprint' Sasha Banks has returned to the WWE after being last seen at WrestleMania! Pat McAfee reminding us the last time we seen Sasha she had a monumental history-making showdown with Bianca Belair for the Championship on the grandest stage of them all.. WRESTLEMANIA!

Sasha takes a moment to soak in the crowd reaction before strutting down the ramp. In the ring, the action has froze, Bianca Belair shocked by the appearance of Sasha Banks as Zelina & Carmella both also look on.

McAfee then brings up a point which is left to be answered - Is Banks here to help Bianca? Or is she here for revenge after losing her Championship at WrestleMania? Or is she here to sign the contract to face Belair at SummerSlam in what would be a huge rematch for the ages?!

Sasha Banks enters the ring and she has chosen her side. Banks standing in the middle of Zelina & Carmella as the tamp crowd "OOHHHHH" with surprise. Carmella & Vega are all smiles before their smiles turn to frowns and scowls as Banks then steps forward and stands alongside Bianca who is now nodding and bouncing on the balls of her feet ready to go, and it goes down! Banks & Belair fighting side by side as the Tampa crowd are cheering. Carmella & Vega forced to flee before Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair regroup once again in the middle of the ring.

Banks & Belair face to face, eyeballing up each other as they both begin to mouth words at another, there's clearly respect here as the crowd react to both women with cheers. Sasha Banks then picks up the contract and pen and looks at Bianca who nods and smiles clearly too wanting the rematch just as much as the WWE Universe do! Banks then signs the contract and it's official as Michael Cole confirms Banks vs Belair II will take place at SummerSlam for the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship!

Banks & Bianca are now face to face with Belair holding the Championship up for the world to see as as Bianca & Banks are mouthing words to each other that are unable to be picked up by the audio. The smackdown logo then flashes across the bottom of the screen and it looks like Smackdown is going to close out with a face to face between the Challenger and Champion when all attention turns towards the stage..

WATCH ME!!!

20432.jpg

Tampa pops once more as the Women's Money in the Bank winner Liv Morgan appears on the stage. Morgan with a smile on her face holds up the Money in the Bank briefcase perhaps foreshadowing what's to come at SummerSlam and stealing the moment between Bianca & Banks in closing Smackdown as both the Challenger & Champion are now looking back towards Liv Morgan who blows them both a kiss before clutching the briefcase as Smackdown draws a close and fades to black.

Monday Night Raw (Episode #1472)
August 9, 2021
Amway Center - Orlando, Florida

Monday Night Raw opened with a match between Kofi Kingston and Cedric Alexander, with their respective partners at ringside. Cedric kept pace with the former WWE Champion in the early moments, but momentum shifted when MVP interfered, swinging things in favor of the Hurt Business.

Tensions quickly escalated as Lashley and Benjamin stormed the ring, attacking Kofi. Woods immediately rushed in to assist, but the numbers game was too much - until Keith Lee emerged to even the odds. Security soon intervened, separating the two sides, leaving New Day and Keith Lee standing tall in the ring as the Hurt Business retreated to the ramp. Adam Pearce popped up on the ‘tron, channeling his inner Teddy Long as he announced a six-man tag team main event pitting the Hurt Business against the New Day and Keith Lee, earning cheers from the Orlando crowd.

AD_4nXf8jA540L2t9zt2m2wpNQZxAsu1-7ELfGHb6lMsC45puFGR8Kz8tOqEL2RzquF812R3xpaB-GUQwcEsq8ScapcxdtTyMFeujvFTQjwKK_ZCWYC97Fq9PoutPfiIdYTYNYSNfnQFYHY8GxBc8Rhh1881J1UT

Returning from the break, The New Day and Keith Lee stood backstage, fired up after the chaos from earlier. Kofi, nursing the back of his neck after his momentary bout against Cedric Alexander, speaks first saying, “I was looking forward to putting the hurt on Cedric one-on-one, but now it’s a six-man tag. So you know what? That just means everybody gets in on the fun to whoop some Hurt Business ass!”

The crowd popped for that. The cameras focused on Keith Lee, who smirked and added, “They keep poking the bear, and tonight, they’re going to see the consequences of that mistake.”

Xavier jumped in with his trademark energy saying, "The Hurt Business are up against the power, the positivity, and the limitless one himself tonight. We’re flipping the script on their so-called ‘business plan’… with a New Day-style beatdown!" The four huddle together, all smiles now, and end the promo with their signature chant: "New Day rocks! New Day rocks! New Day rocks!"

On commentary, Smith and Graves were seen smiling after that segment from the New Day and Keith Lee. They proceeded to recap the recent series of matches between Ricochet and Morrison. Smith noted how closely matched the two had been, with Graves adding that sometimes, wrestling was a game of margins and, marginally, Ricochet had been better than Morrison in two out of the three matches.

Ricochet faced off against the luchador Gran Metalik, who had Lince Dorado in his corner. The match was fast-paced, showcasing Ricochet's patented high-flying style. Ultimately, Ricochet secured the win with a Jumping Knee Strike followed by a 630 Senton. Afterwards, the two competitors shook hands, with Dorado helping Metalik up the ramp. With the crowd cheering him on, Ricochet acknowledged the crowd and thanked them for their support.

The cameras went backstage, where Adam Pearce was with the members of Team Pearce — team captain Drew McIntyre and the recently recruited Street Profits, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford. Pearce praised the team’s strengths but noted they still needed a few more members, asking if they had any suggestions. They pondered for a moment, but nothing came to mind—except for Drew, who had a smile on his face.

AD_4nXf8jA540L2t9zt2m2wpNQZxAsu1-7ELfGHb6lMsC45puFGR8Kz8tOqEL2RzquF812R3xpaB-GUQwcEsq8ScapcxdtTyMFeujvFTQjwKK_ZCWYC97Fq9PoutPfiIdYTYNYSNfnQFYHY8GxBc8Rhh1881J1UT

After the commercial break, Adam Pearce, Drew McIntyre, and the Street Profits approached Ricochet in his locker room, catching him by surprise. Ricochet asked what brought them by, and Pearce explained that he had an open spot on his team before motioning for Drew to take it from there. Drew expressed that Ricochet had really impressed him in his recent matches and believed Ricochet was on his way to the top at the rate he was going. He concluded by saying Ricochet would make a fantastic addition to the team. With a grin, Drew offered Ricochet a spot on Team Pearce. Ricochet looked at the rest of the team, noticing Pearce’s encouraging nod, then accepted the offer, shaking hands with each of the members of Team Pearce.

With the duo of Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose looking to get back on track, Dana took on the Queen, Charlotte Flair. Early on, Charlotte appeared to be “playing with her food,” taunting Dana and staying in control. Dana rallied back, using her impressive strength, nearly pinning Charlotte. Just as Dana came off the ropes, Mandy grabbed her foot, catching Dana off guard. Before she could react, Charlotte struck, taking Dana down with a blow to the back of her left knee and finishing her off with Natural Selection.

After the bell, Mandy entered the ring and began stomping on Dana before kicking her out of the ring. She turned to Charlotte and bowed in a show of respect. Charlotte responded by allowing her to stand and raising Mandy’s hand, solidifying their alliance. The cameras captured Dana’s look of surprise and apparent anger.

AD_4nXf8jA540L2t9zt2m2wpNQZxAsu1-7ELfGHb6lMsC45puFGR8Kz8tOqEL2RzquF812R3xpaB-GUQwcEsq8ScapcxdtTyMFeujvFTQjwKK_ZCWYC97Fq9PoutPfiIdYTYNYSNfnQFYHY8GxBc8Rhh1881J1UT

Back from the break, Kay Lee Ray (KLR) was seen watching on the monitor a replay of Mandy Rose aligning herself with Charlotte Flair. Raw’s backstage interviewer, Sarah Schreiber, arrived on the scene to get KLR’s thoughts on the shocking turn of events. KLR took a moment, regaining her composure, and insisted there was nothing to worry about. Just then, the Raw Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley, entered the frame with a playful smirk, teasing KLR about whether she might have bitten off more than she could chew with Charlotte. Finding her footing, KLR responded, saying she wasn’t concerned at all. Instead, she flipped the point back to Rhea, pointing out that she should be the one worried about Charlotte’s new partnership with Mandy. KLR highlighted their shared history, noting that Rhea had always operated as a lone wolf, a mentality that could ultimately lead to her downfall. Rhea countered, saying her approach had brought her this far, raising her Raw Women’s Championship in front of KLR and declaring, “I’ll be just fine.” as the scene faded to ringside.

Next, the show gave a look at the new and improved Donovan Dijakovic. Previously T-Bar, Dijakovic had ditched the mask and gone back to his NXT persona, wreaking havoc where he could. In this match, he went up against Orlando’s own Justin Wiggins. Dijakovic dominated the match from the start, leaving poor Justin no chance as he fell victim to Feast Your Eyes, a backbreaker transitioned into a knee lift!

After the match ended, Dijakovic wasn’t finished. He quickly rose to his feet, grabbed Justin, and hoisted him up once more, delivering his finisher for a second time. Just as he was about to attempt it a third time, Mace’s music hit. He rushed down the ramp to make the save, igniting cheers from the Orlando crowd. Dijakovic exited the ring, flashing a sly grin to the cameras and brushing his hands together, clearly pleased with his handiwork.

AD_4nXf8jA540L2t9zt2m2wpNQZxAsu1-7ELfGHb6lMsC45puFGR8Kz8tOqEL2RzquF812R3xpaB-GUQwcEsq8ScapcxdtTyMFeujvFTQjwKK_ZCWYC97Fq9PoutPfiIdYTYNYSNfnQFYHY8GxBc8Rhh1881J1UT

As the show returned from the break, the gentle strum of a guitar filled the air, accompanied by the rhythmic clinking of boot spurs. The clinking halted when a shadowy figure settled by a campfire, setting down his guitar. The sky glowed with the last light of day, casting a dusky hue. The figure pulled out a small pocket knife, carefully sharpening a stick. He paused, rising to his feet, and looked westward—spotting another, barely visible figure in the distance. The two locked eyes in a tense standoff, hands ready as if to draw pistols. Only the crackling of the campfire broke the silence. Finally, the visitor approached, and the two shadowy figures shook hands before the scene faded back to ringside.

At ringside, the Street Profits, along with Drew McIntyre in their corner, went up against Veer and Shanky, who had Jinder in their corner. Looking to ruin things for Team Pearce, Veer and Shanky kept the Street Profits off-balanced early on, disrupting the flow of the match numerous times. However, once the Street Profits gained momentum, there was no stopping them. On the outside, Jinder tried to get involved but was met with a Claymore for his troubles. Back in the ring, Montez soared off the top rope, reaching incredible heights to land a massive splash on Shanky, securing the pinfall victory. The cameras then briefly cut backstage to show Ricochet watching on, clapping in approval for his Team Pearce allies.

The cameras faded backstage to AJ Styles and Omos with no audio. Styles was seen gesturing toward Omos and tapping his own temple, signaling for Omos to stay sharp out there. Omos, intense and towering over Styles, nodded in understanding. Styles then slapped the Raw Tag Team Title on Omos’s shoulder before heading out, with Omos following close behind. On commentary, Graves announced that the Raw Tag Team Champions would be in action right after the break.

AD_4nXf8jA540L2t9zt2m2wpNQZxAsu1-7ELfGHb6lMsC45puFGR8Kz8tOqEL2RzquF812R3xpaB-GUQwcEsq8ScapcxdtTyMFeujvFTQjwKK_ZCWYC97Fq9PoutPfiIdYTYNYSNfnQFYHY8GxBc8Rhh1881J1UT

A video replay from last week rolled, showing Omos's brutal attack on Orton. Graves commented that Styles had Omos more motivated than ever— a truly dangerous combination. Smith countered, remarking that Styles had better be careful because if he pushed too hard, Omos could lose control and turn that anger toward Styles himself.

Despite appearing to be on the same page, Styles and Omos struggled against the Viking Raiders, who kept Omos off balance with their quick, strategic tags. Adding to the tension, Styles repeatedly refused to tag himself in, forcing Omos to endure and power through the adversity on his own. Fueled by that pressure, Omos eventually took control, showcasing his raw strength against the resilient Viking Raiders. With Ivar taken out at ringside, Omos planted Erik with a thunderous two-handed chokeslam. Just then, Styles tagged himself in to deliver a 450 splash, stealing the pinfall from Omos.

After the match, Styles celebrated as if he had done most of the work. Behind him, Omos struggled to re-enter the ring as Riddle stormed down to ringside, chair in hand, raining down shot after shot on the big man, getting revenge for his tag team partner after last week’s attack. With sheer power, Omos swatted the chair from Riddle’s grasp, only for Riddle to walk right into a stiff forearm from Styles. Styles and Omos quickly retreated up the ramp, while Riddle, fuming, shouted after them from the ring. But as he turned around, he was met with a thunderous Brogue Kick from Sheamus, flooring him instantly.

Back from the break, referee Chad Patton was still talking to Riddle after he had taken a Brogue Kick before the show went to commercial. Riddle, now even more furious, waved Patton off and began throwing hands with Sheamus, prompting the referee to signal for the bell.

As the bell rang, Riddle wasted no time, charging at Sheamus and throwing wild punches, taking out his frustrations on the Celtic Warrior. Sheamus grinned, reveling in the brawl, and fired back with punches of his own. The two went toe-to-toe, trading punches, forearms, and hard knees, with neither giving an inch. As Riddle attempted a takedown, Sheamus countered and slammed him into the mat, pummeling him further. Sheamus then grabbed Riddle and hit the Beats of the Bodhrán but refused to let go, unleashing an extended barrage of clubbing blows. Referee Chad Patton tried to intervene, but Sheamus kept at it, forcing the official to call for a disqualification.

With Riddle down, Sheamus taunted him, setting him up for more clobbering blows, but suddenly, Jeff Hardy’s music hit. Hardy rushed to Riddle’s aid, sending Sheamus retreating. Before they could regroup, AJ Styles and Omos appeared, joining Sheamus in overwhelming Hardy and Riddle with a brutal three-on-two assault. Just as things looked bleak, Damian Priest’s music blasted through the arena. He sprinted down to the ring, evening the odds. A wild brawl broke out as the crowd roared in cheers—Riddle with Sheamus, Styles with Hardy, and Priest with Omos. Styles was the first to retreat, quickly pulling his tag team partner, Omos, with him. Sheamus shoved Riddle aside, creating enough space to join Styles and Omos as they backed up the ramp. In the ring, the faces stood ready, fired up to continue the fight. On commentary, Smith noted the explosive mix of rivals clashing tonight, while Graves chimed in, “Let them fight!”

Seemingly unaware of the brawl that had just ensued, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce was all smiles as he spoke on a phone call with someone. “Yes, that’s great,” he said. “I’m just as excited as you are,” he continued. “I’ll see you on SmackDown. Thank you.”

After finishing the phone call, Adam Pearce’s smile quickly faded as the camera zoomed out to reveal 24/7 Champion Akira Tozawa standing before him. Tozawa extended the 24/7 title belt, shaking his head. “What?” Pearce questioned before being handed a bag with the title in it. “I don’t want to be champion anymore.” Before Pearce could respond, R-Truth burst onto the scene, frantically searching for Tozawa. Truth asked Pearce if he had seen Tozawa, to which Pearce responded by stepping to his left, revealing Tozawa. The 24/7 Champion let out a loud gasp, shocked at the betrayal Pearce had shown. Outside Pearce’s door, the other contenders, including Drake Maverick and Reggie, were seen fighting off Tozawa’s ninjas.

Tozawa seized the moment to escape, plunging himself into the crowd of passing ninjas. Just before disappearing from view, he flashed the real 24/7 Championship strapped around his waist, laughing mockingly as he made his getaway.

Back from the break, Sarah Schreiber stood with Piper Niven backstage, who appeared visibly anxious, glancing around as if expecting an attack from behind. As Piper struggled to find her words, Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax made their entrance, taunting Piper and insisting she didn’t belong in the locker room. Just then, Nikki A.S.H. burst onto the scene to defend Piper, telling the heels to back off. Shayna and Nia brushed off Nikki’s bravado and announced they had just come from Adam Pearce’s office, revealing that the two teams would meet next week, with the winner earning a shot at the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Shayna and Nia mockingly wished the pair good luck because they were going to need it.

After their departure, Nikki encouraged Piper, highlighting the strength of their potential partnership. However, Piper remained visibly anxious and uncertain about Nikki’s proposition. Rather than engaging, Piper walked away. Nikki glanced at Sarah with a concerned expression before hurrying off to catch up with Piper.

In the main event, Keith Lee and The New Day took on Bobby Lashley, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin in an intense six-man tag match. Fueled by frustrations from earlier in the night, Keith and The New Day dominated early, using swift teamwork to keep The Hurt Business on their heels. Momentum shifted when MVP threw his cane into the ring, distracting Woods just long enough for Shelton to strike with a vicious superkick that floored him.

With Woods isolated, The Hurt Business took control, each member ruthlessly targeting him to keep him from tagging out. Despite the assault, the Orlando crowd’s support fueled Woods. Eventually, he managed a hot tag onto Kofi, who exploded into the ring, delivering his high-flying offense and knocking down Cedric and Shelton. Before long, Lashley re-entered the ring, turning the tables with his raw power. Outside the ring, Lashley threw Woods and Keith into the steel steps, rendering them useless momentarily.

MVP then ordered Cedric and Shelton to hold Woods near the barricade as Lashley prepared for a brutal spear. The crowd began to buzz in anticipation. At the last second, Woods managed to pull Cedric and Shelton into Lashley’s path, causing Lashley to crash into his own teammates and demolish the barricade!

In the chaos, Woods and Keith regained their footing, rolling Lashley back into the ring. They unleashed a series of finishers—Woods with Lost in the Woods, Kofi with Trouble in Paradise—staggering the WWE Champion. For the final blow, they hurled Lashley toward Keith, who planted him with a thunderous Spirit Bomb! The crowd counted along with the pin—1! 2! 3!—securing the victory for their team.

The crowd erupted in cheers for Keith Lee and The New Day as they celebrated their hard-fought victory in the ring. MVP helped the dazed Lashley to his feet, guiding The Hurt Business up the ramp. The cameras caught Lashley glaring back at the ring, his eyes locked on Keith and The New Day as they continued to revel in their win. MVP, trying to calm his WWE Champion, muttered, “They got lucky tonight. Next time, we end this.”

As they disappeared backstage, the camera returned to the ring, where Keith, Kofi, and Woods raised each other’s arms, sharing a final triumphant moment with the fans. Smith noted the shift in momentum, wondering what kind of retribution Lashley and The Hurt Business would seek after this loss. He thanked the fans at home for tuning in and promised even more excitement next week.

END.

--- NOTE: So... we're back once again! Had this episode banked for a good while now, so hopefully it all still makes sense. If not, I'll go back and make edits. But yes, hoping to stick to this BTB moving forward with the rest of us. I'm sure you'll hear from the others soon enough. Hope you enjoy the show!

I can't believe I have never actually dropped a review on here! But I am here to repent. Glad to see you back and keep the (Death) Triangle Universe going.

Seeing how The Hurt Syndicate are seen as one of the gems in the crown of the current AEW landscape make me excited that you have the Hurt Business around during this period of Raw. I think creative ran out of steam far too early with them, and I think they have a lot of potential. Obviously, Lashley is your WWE Champion during this time, so they're not in any danger of being forgotten but I think what I'm trying to say is that regardless of the titles, I think they've got real potential to be mainstays on Monday nights.

I LOVE that you're elevating Keith Lee, injecting some new energy into the brand and doing what I feel should be happening - taking a top-tier talent from NXT and turning them into a top-tier star on the main roster. Lee was another hot ticket that was cooled off prematurely - I know he had some health issues around the pandemic era, but I'm pleased you're continuing his momentum. I love a nod to Theodore R. Long. HOLLA HOLLA!

Sidenote (even though it was their match): The New Day still had ongoing momentum, so you've got yourself the tools for a decent tag team division with Street Profits, The Viking Raiders and Hurt Business. Something, I feel still needs that momentum across both brands in the present day.

Ricochet getting a win over Metalik, in what I'd imagine to be a fun high-flying match. I know the previous match with John Morrison was referenced, so I am interested to see how you shape him as part of this project. You have creative freedom, so please give him something. An invitation to join Team Pearce at Summer Slam would certainly add some prestige to his name, but hopefully, you can break him out of this guy who gets added to things because you know he can deliver a good spot.

Charlotte continues her momentum with a win over her former protégé (welp!). I love multi-faceted booking where there's some form of storytelling for the loser as much as the winner. Mandy's trading up, and who can blame her? I like the idea of his dynamic, especially with Mandy turning on the main roster and seeing how that could fare. Justice for Dana though.

Again, multi-faceted because while we've got the dissolution of Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke, with this potential new pairing of Mandy and Charlotte, we also have Kay Lee Ray waiting in the wings. I'm really excited to see you utilise KLR at this time where she was coming off a lengthy NXT UK Women's title reign and had this sense of importance around her. Loved the NXT UK nod between KLR and Rhea too! Very nice touch.

Justice for Justin Wiggins! I enjoyed the Dijak(ovic) character and I like that you've threaded his evolution from T-Bar into this. It would have been easy enough to take him off television and pretend Retribution never happened, but I think this layers him more. I'd love to see him run riot on Raw and become a potential mid-card title contender.

Nice visuals in the next segment. A strum of a guitar....it surely can only be one person? And flanked by two shadowy individuals. Again, loving how you've put your stamp on things.

Veer and Shanky, yikes. I think this was a great way to continue the build of Team Pearce, including their harmony as Ricochet shows up to support The Street Profits. I think they make for a really likeable team, which will mean a lot heading in the the PLE.

Just when I was saying about a great tag team division, I forgot these two were your champions. Obviously, it goes without saying that AJ Styles is great, and while I'm not a huge Omos fan, I think there's a load of different ways you can take him and you're certainly building him as a monster and not letting his inexperience dwarf him against vertans like Randy Orton. Plus, beating The Viking Raiders, who sure, may not have had the same buzz as they did in NXT, but are a sizeable and legitimate tag team, only adds to the dominance of the Tag Team Champions. Although, how will Omos respond to his thunder being stolen? Is this foreshadowing?

I will say the post-match stuff with Riddle was a little hard to follow at the end with Sheamus randomly appearing. However, I like that Sheamus is also being presented as a badass. I think he's really proven himself over the past couple of years, and as a former World Champion, I always think it's important to try and honour the history of the wrestler than letting them slip down the card because they might not be seen as trendy.

Hardy....Riddle....Priest...I sense a six-man tag match on the horizon. Really interesting time to book Priest pre-Judgement Day, MITB, and title run too. Pretty much leaves him as a blank canvas for you to run with.

Pearce heading to Friday nights, what has he got in store?

I think Tozawa is so underrated and since joining the main roster, he's only ever allowed to have been the comedy guy. The 24/7 title certainly didn't help with that narrative but I would LOVE to see you try and take him down a serious route, although with the Cruiserweight title on NXT, there's a limited pool of what Cruiserweights on the main roster could do outside of a jobber role. It was funny to review this as I read, because I genuinely thought this was you binning off the 24/7 title. I do wonder whether you can do anything to legitimise the belt. Also, are you poaching Drake Maverick from me!?

Love that Piper Niven is no longer Doudrop, that felt like a dark time in history. Love a storyline in the women's tag division as it desperately needs creativity and depth.

I honestly thought you'd use the main event to put Keith Lee (and The New Day) over The Hurt Business while protecting Bobby Lashley as your champion, but he ate three finishers. On the one hand, it shows the resilience of Lashley, on the other, it really slingshots Lee's chances upwards heading into the Premium Live Event. I think Lee going over Benjamin or Alexander would have definitely increase his threat to dethroning Lashley, but this actually puts him on the map and I think for audiences who may not have been familiar with his work in NXT, this elevates him into the upper card territory.
