WSOF 8 lineup finalized, Palomino vs. Patino moved to main-card opener
Next week’s World Series of Fighting 8 lineup has been finalized, and in addition to a new preliminary-card bout, lightweights Luis Palomino (21-9) and Jorge Patino (35-14-2) have been promoted to the main card.
WSOF officials confirmed the bout order with MMAjunkie.com.
WSOF 8 takes place Jan. 18 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The main card airs on NBC Sports Network following prelims on MMAjunkie.
Palomino, a CFA and Bellator MMA vet, initially was slated to fight Richard Patishnock (6-1), who was recently promoted to the main event as an injury substitute. In his place steps Patino, a big-show who’s 8-1-1 in his past 10 fights.
With the Palomino vs. Patino promotion, welterweights Valdir Araujo (14-4) and Tyler Stinson (25-9) now close out the preliminary card.
In addition to that fight, the prelims have a new bout between welterweights middleweights Anderson Melo (10-7) and Jose Caceres (6-4).
