At WrestleMania 30 on Sunday, April 6, six-time World Champion Batista returns to The Grandest Stage of Them All to challenge The Face of WWE, Randy Orton, for the most prestigious title in all of sports-entertainment, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The championship battle will etch not only a new chapter in The Show of Shows’ already illustrious history, but also the latest development in the years-long competition between The Animal and The Viper, former Evolution cohorts.

However, given the events that transpired on the March 10 edition of Raw, the main event could gain a new participant: Thanks to a decision by WWE COO Triple H, if Daniel Bryan wins his match against The Game on April 6, he will gain entry into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match, turning the bout into a Triple Threat!
Long before that development, Batista punched his ticket to a WrestleMania main event in New Orleans by overcoming 29 other Superstars to win the Royal Rumble Match in January. The contest was his first match back after a nearly four-year absence from the ring. Upon returning to WWE, the always-candid Batista made his objective perfectly clear: to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title in the main event of WrestleMania 30.

Although Orton has knowingly eyed Batista as his No. 1 contender since Royal Rumble, The Viper’s path to the main event of The Showcase of the Immortals was anything but guaranteed. To ensure his spot, Orton had to first survive a supremely competitive Elimination Chamber Match lineup on Feb. 23 with his championship reign intact. Thanks in part to interference by Bray Wyatt and Kane — each of whom took John Cena and Daniel Bryan out of the championship picture, respectively — WWE’s Apex Predator slithered out of the Chamber with the title still his.

Now, The Face of WWE is set on a collision course with a Superstar who is all too familiar with his ruthless mindset.

Orton and Batista spent their formative years together as the two junior members of Evolution — one of the most powerful factions in wrestling history, guided by Triple H and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Although they spent many months fighting side-by-side, Batista and Orton’s subsequent ring wars are also well documented. Batista even dethroned Orton to win his first WWE Championship in June 2009 – in New Orleans, no less.

Both Superstars have grown by leaps and bounds since their nascent days as mere pupils of The Game and “The Nature Boy.” Despite his hiatus from the ring, Batista — newly empowered by his Jiu-Jitsu studies — has proven in his comeback to be every bit as destructive as he was years ago. Former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio found that out the hard way at Elimination Chamber, when Batista downed him with an explosive Batista Bomb. And even though Orton’s merit to be called The Face of WWE has been called into question, there is no denying The Viper has found ways to hold onto the WWE World Heavyweight Title in even the direst of straits.

With the unification of the WWE and World Heavyweight Titles last December, this year marks the first time in more than a decade that there has been a single World Champion at WrestleMania, adding an even greater air of grandiosity to the proceedings. Will The Viper slither out of New Orleans and continue his historic title reign? Or, will Batista complete his stated goal and stand alone as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion? In a matter of weeks, Bray Wyatt injured John Cena, ran down his name and cost him the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. But at WrestleMania 30, the Cenation leader will finally get his opportunity at retribution. To earn vindication, however, Cena must overcome the Superstar who has quickly established himself to be among the most menacing individuals in WWE history.

The battle is a compelling matchup between two diametric forces. In one corner stands the ever-righteous, albeit polarizing, Cena, who has unflinchingly shouldered the burden of being WWE's most conspicuous target. Across the ring will be WWE's most sinister sermonizer, "The Eater of Worlds" who has pegged the Cenation leader as nothing more than a "child afraid of solitude.
According to the self-proclaimed “Man of 1,000 Truths,” the fan-friendly Cena — an upholder of all that is moral and good and right — is simply a plastic smile, a proud but hollow illusion begging to be exposed. Whether or not Wyatt’s cryptic words hold water, this much is true: As a 14-time World Champion, Cena is the unequivocal gatekeeper to WWE’s main event, and anybody who wants to make it to the promised land must go through him.

That list now clearly includes the unapologetic Bray Wyatt.

Along with his monstrous henchmen, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, Wyatt has made Cena’s life hell in recent months. At Royal Rumble, The Wyatt Family interrupted Cena’s match against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, ultimately costing Cena the match. A month later at Elimination Chamber, the Wyatts again prevented Cena from winning an all-important title contest. And on the Feb. 24 edition of Raw, Wyatt formally “introduced” himself to Cena by way of a 3-on-1 attack that left the Cenation leader limping and debilitated by a knee injury. Wyatt has sworn to bring death to “this era of lies,” beginning with Cena. Will “The Eater of Worlds” do just that when he makes his debut on The Grandest Stage of Them All in New Orleans on April 6? Or will Cena valiantly dispatch the disillusioned cult leader and restore faith in his cause at the biggest event in WWE history? With the help of the #YESMovement, Daniel Bryan forced Triple H’s hand, and at WrestleMania 30, the irrepressible Beard will square off against The King of Kings in a bout with supremely high stakes: If Bryan wins, he will be entered into WrestleMania’s main event between Randy Orton and Batista, turning the contest into a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match!

For weeks, Triple H refused Bryan’s challenge to face him at WrestleMania, declaring that such a marquee match at The Showcase of The Immortals was no place for WWE’s popular “Yes!” Man, who the WWE COO has graded as a “B+ player” and disparaged as “185-pound, sawed-off midget.” Yet, the grassroots #YESMovement did not weaken or subside, despite Triple H’s balking, and on the March 10 edition of Raw, Bryan called upon his faithful followers to participate in a sit-in, mid-ring. Together, they occupied Raw until Triple H accepted the challenge, with the added wrinkle of the new demand: that Bryan's entry into the WWE World Heavyweight Title Match be on the line.
In reluctantly agreeing to the bout, however, The Game told Bryan he would bring The Beard's career to an end on April 6.

The showdown marks the culmination of what many belief was a concentrated, months-long effort by The Authority to prevent Bryan from regaining the top prize in WWE — the WWE Title-turned-WWE World Heavyweight Title — and becoming the organization’s new face. The alleged campaign infuriated WWE fans, who viewed The Beard’s plight as a symbolic struggle between The Authority and the WWE Universe over control of the WWE ring. Triple H, meanwhile, maintains that he was simply "protecting" Bryan all along, ever since SummerSlam 2013.
Since that fateful night, Bryan’s been beaten down and sabotaged, but his fighting spirit has not diminished. With months of pent-up frustration and the vocal support of the WWE Universe, will Bryan make Triple H pay when it counts the most — at the biggest show in WWE history, with an opportunity at the WWE World Heavyweight Title on the line?

The Deadman took umbrage at The Beast's gesture, slamming the pen down into Lesnar's hand before chokeslamming him through a table in the middle of the ring. As The Undertaker gazed at the WrestleMania 30 sign that looms over the squared circle, the WWE Universe buzzed as the battle between the two juggernauts became official.
As the keeper of WWE’s most extraordinary record going today, a flawless 21-0 WrestleMania Streak, The Undertaker has proven to be all but unbeatable at The Grandest Stage of Them All. Will the same be true when he faces the Heyman-coached Anomaly?

On Sunday, April 6, 30 Superstars will celebrate both the 30th anniversary of WrestleMania and one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time when they compete in the first-ever Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Announced by WrestleMania 30 host “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan — whose bodyslam of Andre at WrestleMania III in front of 93,000 WWE fans remains one of the most iconic Show of Shows moments — the contest will feature 30 competitors seeking to create a lasting WrestleMania moment, etch their name in the history book and capture the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy, made in the image of the inaugural member of the WWE Hall of Fame, who was all but unbeatable in the battle royal format.
With so much on the line, this first-time-ever contest promises wild action and free-for-all mayhem, as the only way to win is to endure in the squared circle as 29 other Superstars are hurled over the top rope and onto the Mercedes-Benz Superdome’s floor.

The Usos will face their first major test as WWE Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania 30, when Jimmy & Jey defend their titles against Los Matadores, Ryback & Curtis Axel and The Real Americans at WrestleMania 30, airing LIVE on WWE Network at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Sunday, April 6. The Usos completed their four-year journey to the top of the mountain on the March 3 edition of Raw, defeating the Outlaws to win their first WWE Tag Team Championship. Since capturing the titles, Jimmy & Jey fought off the challenges of any duo who stepped in the ring with them. They have a tall task ahead of them if they want to remain champions on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Both Ryback & Curtis Axel and The Real Americans were given the title opportunity by Kane as a reward for helping the Director of Operations ambush The Shield during a WWE Tag Team Title’s No. 1 Contenders Fatal 4-Way Match on the March 21 edition of SmackDown. Since then, the unyielding champion has thwarted every challenger thrown her way, maintaining an unrelenting hold on her precious title. AJ’s historic championship run hasn’t been without its challenges — her rivalry with the stars of E!’s “Total Divas” escalated to its boiling point over the summer when the unhinged titleholder blasted the reality stars with a scathing “pipe bomb” on Raw. The controversial tongue-lashing rocked the WWE Universe and ignited a rivalry among the WWE Divas that will culminate at The Grandest Stage of Them All. Since being hired as Director of Operations by The Authority, the always volatile Kane has struggled at times to act in a manner befitting an impartial administrative figure. When challenged, he has often unleashed Big Red rage on any Superstars who refused to respect the rule of WWE COO Triple H & Stephanie McMahon. And now that The Shield has stopped following the company line, The Devil’s Favorite Demon will partner with The New Age Outlaws at The Showcase of the Immortals to attempt to put The Hounds of Justice in their place.
In a little more than a year’s time, the black-clad trio of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & United States Champion Dean Ambrose has laid waste to the likes of The Undertaker, The Rock, Daniel Bryan and Big Show. All the while, their unique brand of justice has often brought them into an unspoken alliance with The Authority along the way. However, after infighting and jealousy caused The Hounds to suffer heartbreaking defeats to The Wyatt Family, an intense “Shield Summit” on SmackDown brought Reigns, Rollins & Ambrose into a renewed unity that would spell destruction for anyone in their path — including, as it turned out, high-ranking Authority brass. When Kane began talking down to The Shield and order them to administer beat downs to Big Show and Jerry Lawler respectively, the triumvirate refused to comply, instead turning their assault on the Director of Operations. In response, Kane enlisted the services of the six-time Tag Team Champions, The New Age Outlaws, to help deliver a retaliatory strike to The Shield during a WWE Tag Team Title No. 1 Contenders Fatal 4-Way Match. It’s hard to ignore that Road Dogg & Billy Gunn have longstanding ties with The Authority’s Triple H, which date back to their days of running roughshod over Superstars as part of DX. Will the Attitude Era stalwarts make The Shield regret ever crossing their “Authority”? Or will The Hounds of Justice prove on The Grandest Stage of Them All that, when united, the WWE Universe is indeed still their yard? A few general thoughts regarding the card so far:

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal: In my opinion, it kind of seems fitting that the Big Show wins it, resemblence and all with Andre...

Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar: in my opinion, the streak moves to 22-0. I've wrote it before but I'll just repeat that it just doesn't appear right that Lesnar ends it. Out of all people, Lesnar? Nah. Besides, and as someone already mentioned in another topic, I too agree that they've taken this streak too far already to have it end.

HHH vs DB: Well, up until a few days ago, it was a pretty safe bet to say DB would win, one way or another and enter the mix with Orton and Batista for the belts. However, after RAW this past Monday and the bomb HHH dropped, himself entering the title match should he win kind of changes things. Or not? Either way, as good old JR would put it, business really did pick up and if there's one thing for sure, it's that it all got a lot more interesting now.
Here's an idea: what if somebody were to interfere and cause a win by disqualification? Would that count as a good enough win for HHH or DB to advance to the title match or would they call it somewhat a tie so that both enter the title match after all and make it a Fatal 4-way after all? I know, it may sound off but just thinking out loud.

Tag Team Championship match: One would assume that there will be one and since the Real Americans pinned the USO's on Raw this past Monday, that must give them the opportunity, right? Now, if that were to happen and given the whole story with Swagger and Cesaro not getting along, I can only imagine that it will come down to some screwup, with the USO's keeping the belts and the Real Americans going on each other. That's what the whole build-up is about anyway, right?

Cena vs Wyatt: I honestly have a hard time calling this one but I think I will stick with Cena. If only I could figure out who will come out for Cena's aid when the rest of the Wyatt family interferes in the match....

Doesn't Road Dogg have some kind of back problems that are supposed to keep him out of action past Wrestlemania? I heard that's why the Old Age Outlaws dropped the titles to The Usos as early as they did. The Ascension, according to the rumors anyway, are probably going to be Kane's partners.

He does but it will be fine by Mania. Watch SD, Shield v Kane/NAO is definitely happening. NAO asked to work with The Shield before they leave, and because they're pals with Hunter, we never got the Shield split and triple threat at Mania.

They're on the card in a match that's not a 30-man battle royal. The NAO lost the tag titles to the Usos, who are the current tag team champions. Kane has lost multiple matches to Daniel Bryan, who, kayfabe, is one of the top (many would say the top) wrestler in the company. It's not like the NAO have been losing regularly to the likes of Santino and Fandango while Kane's been doing the honors for Heath Slater.

Besides, I would expect the Shield to go over with Reigns looking strong or one of the Shield members to turn their back on and screw the other two (smart early money would have been on Ambrose, now I'm not so sure). Either way, if it drives the storyline forward, it's not a "waste".

Kane has lost multiple matches to Daniel Bryan, who, kayfabe, is one of the top (many would say the top) wrestler in the company. It's not like the NAO have been losing regularly to the likes of Santino and Fandango while Kane's been doing the honors for Heath Slater.

Besides, I would expect the Shield to go over with Reigns looking strong or one of the Shield members to turn their back on and screw the other two (smart early money would have been on Ambrose, now I'm not so sure). Either way, if it drives the storyline forward, it's not a "waste".

Total waste. They should have either saved Shield/Wyatts or done the triple threat match at Mania. I'd rather see them go up against three credible babyfaces like last year than NAO/Kane.

I have to side more with Brad here. What kind of rub can Kane and the New Age Outlaws really give The Shield that they haven't already gotten from going over the likes of John Cena, The Undertaker, Randy Orton, Big Show and others? They've already went over Kane in the past (when he was still dressed as The Big Red Machine instead of a corporate stooge) and the Outlaws, while multi-time tag team champions, obviously aren't on the level of multi-time world champions like Cena, Orton and the Big Show (who also has the size credibility of being "The World's Largest Athlete.")

But no matter, to me I dislike the feud not because it's bad (it isn't per se) or because there are other people who I think would be better fit to give The Shield a rub. I hate the feud because I was really looking forward to seeing The Shield split up and face off with each other on the grand stage. No other rivalry (aside from saving their first bout with The Wyatt Family for WMXXX) would have satisfied me.
