WWE Changes The WrestleMania Main Event

"Fans are somewhat divided over the match card for WrestleMania 33, but no one can argue that it's filled with talented, both current and from the company's past. That includes people like Goldberg, The Undertaker, and Brock Lesnar, and it seems there's been a shakeup in the main event status for all of them

The original plan was thought to be Goldberg and Brock Lesnar's rematch going last, typically considered to be the main event spot. Now, most think it will be a squash match, putting the power firmly back in Lesnar's hands, but according to Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer (via IWNerd) that is now not the case. It seems the plan is now to have the Roman Reigns vs Undertaker matchup be the last event on the card, with the Universal Championship match moved to second to last."

It looks like taker and reigns will be the main event now. This means that this must be takers last match. With that being said, I hope to God reigns wins and retried taker in a heel fashion. How much fucking heat would this make? Such a great opportunity.

:sheamful:This piece of news, if accurate, I actually find very interesting...

Now, for the most part we've called WWE a bunch of names, from dumb to stubborn (on occasion) to even stupid and while several of their choices over time have been challenging at least, I still feel that they aren't THAT stupid. In this particular case, I believe there are two ways to interpretation:

One hand, they could probably be thinking that Lesnar vs. Goldberg won't deliver and given Goldberg's condition, I'd be worried as well. The guy has been back since Survivor Series and has wrestled, what, a total of...3 minutes? Let's be real, this isn't so much a case of Goldberg looking dominant but a case of WWE protecting him simply because he basically has very little to none stamina. So, while I'm sure both Brock and Bill want to kind of redeem themselves for the shitty first Mania encounter, there's every reason to be worried.

On the other hand, Wrestlemania is always about closing out on bang with a huge moment and while some may argue this hasn't always been the case, it at least is supposed to be the idea. That being said, what if WWE are setting up the big heel turn for Roman, thus electing to have this match go last? Granted, Lesnar winning the title will be huge but if we are talking about a possible Roman heel turn, this has got to be bigger; much bigger. I certainly don't have it past them to give Roman a simple clean victory but WWE know that this would result in another massive booing the guy out of the building and I just have to believe they can't be this stupid to know this and still have him close the show.

Oh, and before we start with the Undertaker retirement story again, I am still sticking to my guns in believing otherwise for reasons I've already explained recently in another thread...

So, hey, perhaps there's hope fellas...:sheamful:
