Somewhat agree, AMF, but am certain this Reigns vs Lesnar match was set in stone before Wrestlemania 30. The rest of this, not so much
True. The match was likely set in stone. (Though I've read through numerous sources that the outcome and original participants have been interchanged the past couple of months)
However, be actual booking of this feud prior to the event taking place is awful.
The Vince/Bret feud started on January 4th 2010. It had a beginning, a middle and an end. Neither men were full time workers yet the climax fit the storyline.
For a match of this magnitude, the storyline arc should have been written and completed months and months in advance.
Having two mutes (Lesnar and Reigns) feud is one thing, its another when one of them is absent (Lesnar) and the other has been booked 'tongue in cheek'.
Upon Reigns return, squashing jobbers (even two at a time) each week would have been more effective then being pinned by Big Show.
This way, Reigns could have earned this spot based on his own merit rather than making it glaringly obvious of their intentions when most had questions about him, anyway.
'Passing of the torch' matches can't be taken lightly. Lesnar is passing the torch, yet Reigns booking is as dull as anybody's in recent memory for a match of this magnitude.
Warrior was booked better. Diesel was booked better. The only person's booking comparable to Reigns is Batista (WM 21), whose history with HHH was well documented.
