Location for Wrestlemania 26 revealed?
Posted by Bobby Spade on 01/02/2008 at 06:24 PM

Hockey Legend "The Great One" Wayne Gretzky is featured in an interview for the Swedish newspaper Expressen that was published on Sunday. In a photo enclosed in the article you can see Gretzky wearing a shirt showcasing the WrestleMania logo and the slogan "Destruction in The Desert," which would indicate that Wrestlemania 2010 will be held in Phoenix, Arizona. Gretzky has ties to the Phoenix area as he is currently the part-owner and head coach of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes.

LOL, Have they even named the WM 25 location? Anyways, your thoughts on this?

LOL, I think this is just a way to let the WWE know that he wants Wrestlemania to be in Pheonix, and why not? Wrestlemania has been on the eastcoast for a while now, I think WWE should give those western people a chance!

I'm guessing the week of WM 24 they'll name the WM 25 location, the way did last year. I don't really see Phoenix as a wresltemania type location because I don't think they have any amazing basketball type arena's and since they're going outside this year I'd be surprised if they did it again, although the Cardinals stadium is amazing and it is closed in. It'll be interesting to see, but as said above it's probably just Gretzky lobying or something like that.

^Well, the US Airways Center in Phoenix actually holds around 17 or 18 thousand I think. The Allstate Arena, which was the site of WM 22 only holds about 15 thousand I think. But, they could put WM 26 in that new retractable stadium in Glendale, which is just outside of Phoenix. It's more for Football, like Ford Field was last year. I believe it holds around 70,000.

^Yea that field is absolutely amazing from what I've heard. A friend of mine went to see the OSU-Florida NC last year and said that's most amazing stadium he's ever seen. Wrestlemania is the biggest stage and I'd imagine if they went with the Phoenix, although as said it's techniquelly Glendale, then that would be the place they'd go.
