Reviewing all the wrestlemanias because I can and I will, but im going backwards, starting with the 2000s then the 80s and 90s.

Wrestlemania 23? Largely forgettable show.

Match 1. Money in the bank. Mr Kennedy wins.. bleh bleh bleh even though the match was pretty good still kennedy winning? Bleh.
(2,out of 4 stars) it was decent although I didn’t agree with the booking decision

Match 2. Kane vs khali. This was the wwe trying to recreate Hogan and Andre yikes..
(1 out of 4 stars) and that 1 im being generious just for effort i guess.

Match 3. Chris Beniot vs mvp. Beniot wins.. why just why? They obviously had plans to ship Beniot off to ecw in the future so why not just have mvp win? He was fresh he was new.
(2 out of 4) a decent match but again a bad booking decision.

Match 4. Undertaker vs Batista. Yep middle of the fucking card of course!! Your world title match is in the middle of the god damn card. All because apparently Dave had an attitude problem backstage and as punishment they said nope your gonna defend your title in the middle of the card. But in all honesty undertaker Carried Dave to the best match of his career here and thank god Batista didn’t end the streak as it was orginally planned.
(3 out of 4)

Match 5. New breed vs ecw originals? Hmm wouldn’t it have been a good thing for the new breed to go over? Yeah I think so.. but unfortunately they didn’t, just another dumb decision. Ecw originals win, ecw was already fucking dead by that point anyway.
(1 out of 4)

Match 6. Hair vs hair. What hurt this match was the fact that it was utterly predictable.. vince gets his head shaved yay.. now as far as the match? Bobby lashley and umaga? Oh dear lord I don’t even wanna talk about it,
(1 out of 4)

Match 7. Divas match. Who cares.

Main event. Cena vs hbk. Now this was actually a pretty good match. Hbk Carried Cena to one of the best matches I’ve seen Cena have. The problem is you knew who was going to win you knew what was going To happen.
(3 out of 4)
So overall this wrestlemania was largely forgettable aside from the 2 title matches, bad booking decisions and predictable outcomes,

Overall grade? C+.

The only thing I’m going to say to this, kind of off topic, is that I kinda wish Dave would’ve beaten taker. He should’ve turned major heel afterwards and kept the world championship for like over a year. Would’ve been a great opportunity for Dave.

Other than that, if CM Punk would’ve beat taker, that would’ve been awesome for his heel run as well. Or what should’ve happened is the match, for this first time ever, ends in a draw... both superstars are unable to make the count of 10. The following year it’s punk vs taker in the main event for the title and punk has to hit like 4 gts’s but wins... granted, this whole angle is dependent on punk actually staying and not just being a whiny bitch.

The best thing at mania 23 was HBK vs Cena, that’s about it, from what I can recall.

Thing is Batista lost a ton of momentum when he came back from injury in late 2006 so that’s why they didn’t have him end it. Also They were actually cheering for mr kennedy when he faced Batista at royal rumble 2007. So that just tells you that Batista was stale.

How do you expect for them to decide to put over MVP who is like 50 times worse wrestler than Benoit? It makes no sense, it’s not how it works, especially not on Wrestlemania. Benoit > HHH, Benoit > HBK but MVP > Benoit lol. To big of a leap for a lifetime mid-carder.

Because mvp was fresh and new and mvp was underrated of course he wasn’t Beniot, but mvp was the guy that was going to be sticking around longer, they were obviously planning for Beniot to go to ecw in the future anyway so why not? It made no damn sense what so ever, why not give mvp his wrestlemania moment? The guy had alot of potential but was always buried. Guys like jack fucking swagger were winning money in the bank but mvp never could, Mvp never got his respect. He should have been a world champion. Look at some of the bums that held that title, great khali, jack swagger, boring del rio. I Can go on and on about how wwe sabatoged Montel Porter and never gave him a world title.

I agree that WWE was extremely burying MVP and that he should have been the world champ just like John Morrison, Shelton Benjamin, Tyson Kidd, Cesaro etc. It’s just that, from my perspective, winning at Wrestlemania against one of the best in the bussines is a very big deal. There are plenty of ways to put over a wrestler, putting those underrated guys over former main eventer and de facto legend on the biggest pay-per-view of a promotion is not a very good idea though. All the guys I mentioned, including MVP, could have become world champs without that. That shouldn’t be happening at least not before they have a reign or two and establish themselves as big dogs.
