WORLD ELITE WRESTLING PRESS RELEASE (provided by the F4WOnline)
July 5, 2016
For 30+ years, the McMahon empire dominated the world of professional wrestling and was at the top of the industry, and was the highest a talent can go in professional wrestling, up until April 2016, when the largest sports and entertainment franchise hit a downward spiral. WrestleMania 32 was a disaster. With almost one-third of the WWE’s roster on the injured list, the card was simply not worthy of the WrestleMania nametag. For the first time since the 90s, there was a threat to World Wrestling Entertainment. Not only did the ratings for all WWE related programs continue to drop, they were heading towards a financial disaster. On an episode of RAW in early May, Vincent Kennedy McMahon stood next to his daughter Stephanie to announce, effective immediately, NXT and the performance center were closed for business. Not realizing how many fans they would lose with this move, the NXT roster was put on inactive for the time being. Total Divas on the E! network got cancelled not shortly thereafter. Things continued to go bad for Vince and his company, and by the end of May, avoiding a financial disaster, Vince relinquished his position as the chairman to his daughter and son-in-law, Triple H. Triple H started using the former NXT roster and proved to be an excellent booker, but the company was in such bad financial shape, which caused the WWE to quickly crumble and die by the end of June.
For the first time in decades, the McMahon family no longer ruled the wrestling industry. While many former WWE Superstars and Divas were wrestling (although not signed anywhere) on either Lucha Underground, ROH, or went overseas to Japan, one select group of veterans decided to give it a go with the financial support of Stan Kroenke of Kroenke Sports Enterprises, who then decided to bring along Terry Bollea so he could get a better idea on how to properly run the organization along with the veterans. Together, they financed a global wrestling promotion with the Performance Facility being located in Orlando, Florida, and the headquarters being located in Tampa, Florida.
