World Championship Wrestling
Backstory:
Eric Bischoff awoke on the night of June 23rd, 1999. He had a horrible dream and premonition that in two years WCW was going to crumble and Vince McMahon was going to bury the entire WCW roster while Triple H performed acts of necrophelia on television. He realized that he simply could not allow this to happen, and thus went on a drunken rage to vacate all of the WCW title belts. Various roster cuts were made to conserve money, and only a handful of who was deemed the most useful of individuals were left. Although the roster was still bloated by comparison, WCW couldn't afford to let go too many names as they were still at risk of losing those superstars to the competition. We start off the night after the Great American Bash, on Monday Night Nitro. Fresh off the heels of releasing dozens of superstars and announcing the vacating of the title belts via online news report, the fans and the wrestlers are left in utter confusion as not only were they left without champions, but also as the announcement was made of a new authority figure stepping in to take the place of Ric Flairs Presidency of WCW. All this and more to be revealed as of the next edition of Monday Night Nitro!
