Simon Cowell's Intruder Alert! Woman Charged With Breaking Into X Factor Host's Home, Hiding in Closet
The typically unflappable Simon Cowell got quite a fright Saturday night.
The X Factor host's London home was burglarized and a woman was discovered hiding in a walk-in closet armed with a brick, Reuters reports.
E! News confirms that Leanne Zaloumis, 29, was charged with one count of aggravated burglary and appeared in court on Monday.
According to reports, at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, the star heard a loud bang come from upstairs and rushed to the bathroom, where he allegedly found Zaloumis holding a brick.
Cowell's spokesman, Max Clifford, told U.K.'s The Sun, "She had smashed her way in through the window and it was unclear how long she had been there or what she was doing."
The 52-year-old star's personal security team reportedly detained the intruder until cops arrived, and blood marks were said to have been found on the bathroom floor. Nothing was reportedly taken from the home.
Cowell's camp declined to comment, telling E! News, "This is a police and court matter."
Zaloumis is due back in court on June 12.
