AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police say a woman is recovering from burns on her chest after a female friend threw macaroni grease and a frying pan full of green beans at her during a fight.

It happened last Tuesday at a residence in the 8200 block of Guadalupe Street. Police went to the home in response to a domestic violence call.

Amanda Chapman, 24, is now facing third-degree assault with injury charges.

Police say Chapman attacked a female friend she was living with while her baby watched.

According to a police affidavit, the baby was crying and the victim allegedly told Chapman to give the baby his medication. At that point, Chapman became enraged about being told what to do, charged at her roommate and then punched her in the head, according to police.

The arrest affidavit states that Chapman then bit her friend when she tried to restrain her.

The fight escalated, according to the arrest affidavit, which states that Chapman grabbed a pan full of macaroni grease and threw it at her roommate, burning her chest.

Police said Chapman then grabbed a frying pan full of green beans and hit her roommate in the back of the head.

Police said when they arrived, they found the alleged victim covered in grease and macaroni.

Chapman did not have any visible injuries.

Medical crews were not called to the scene.
