The shooting happened around 5:20 a.m. at a home in the 1200 block of West 23rd Street near Orange Blossom Trail in Holden Heights.
According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, someone drove by the house and fired several rounds, hitting the woman, who was sleeping in the front room. No one else was shot, deputies said. The woman, described only as in her 40s, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
At least five bullet holes were seen in the front of the house.
No description of the shooter or the vehicle were known.
