It felt strange watching last years WM at an open stadium without a roof and this year's WM will be the same. Personally I don't like the brightness of the sun for the first few matches. It just doesn't seem right. Do you guys have a problem with it?

You know what's weird, I was like in that same section last year, but more towards the right side of that pic, as you can see that palm tree was a pain in my ass.

Anyway to the question. The canopy used over the ring is used for 4 reasons.

1. keeping the ring dry in case of bad weather
2. keeping the heat off the wrestlers (since the baby oil would fry them)
3. suspending cages
4. shading for the camera fstops which would significantly decrease the brightness for matches, well at least for close shots, the general wide shot is bright.

As a fan, sitting under the sun in Miami and Pheonix was excruciating so if you;re referring to that yes, the sun is bothersome but that only lasts for an hour and it's worth the environment.
