After losing opponent Thiago Silva (14-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) to a rescheduling, light heavyweight Igor Pokrajac (24-8 MMA, 3-3 UFC) now will fight replacement Fabio Maldonado (18-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at May's UFC on FUEL TV 3 event.
Maldonado recently announced the fight.
UFC on FUEL TV 3 takes play May 15 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., and features a No. 1 contender's bout between featherweights Dustin Poirier and Chan Sung Jung.
The event's main card airs live on FUEL TV, and Facebook is expected to stream the preliminary card. It's not clear where Pokrajac vs. Maldonado will end up on the card.
Pokrajac's original opponent, Silva, recently was pulled from the fight and replaced injured Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in next month's UFC on FUEL TV 2 headliner, where he now meets Alexander Gustafsson.
Pokrajac, a well-rounded Croatian fighter, most recently fought at UFC 140, where he knocked out Krzysztof Soszynski in 35 seconds. It was his second consecutive win, which included a TKO victory over Todd Brown at UFC on Versus 3. He's now won three of his past four fights with the lone loss coming via decision to Stephan Bonnar in late 2010.
Maldonado recently saw an 11-fight win streak come to an end with a unanimous-decision loss to Kyle Kingsbury in June. The Brazilian fighter, who also owns a 22-0 pro-boxing record, had two recent bookings (against Aaron Rosa at UFC on Versus 6 and Caio Magalhaes at UFC 142) scrapped due to injuries. UFC on FUEL TV 3 will be his first fight in nearly a year.
The latest UFC on FUEL TV 3 card now includes:
Dustin Poirier vs. Chan Sung Jung
Donald Cerrone vs. Jeremy Stephens
Mike Easton vs. Yves Jabouin
Fabio Maldonado vs. Igor Pokrajac
Tom Lawlor vs. Jason MacDonald
Jorge Lopez vs. Amir Sadollah
T.J. Grant vs. Carlo Prater
Cody McKenzie vs. Aaron Riley
Brad Tavares vs. Dongi Yang
Jeff Curran vs. Johnny Eduardo
Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Kamal Shalorus
Azamat Gashimov vs. Alex Soto
