As we all know, WWE has recently been in talks with Fox to put NXT on FS1, NXT being on TV would be huge in many ways, includeing but not limited to it goign head to head with AEW on Wednesdays.
But thats not what i wanna talk about or point out, not yet atleast, right now i wanna talk about something quite terrifying for those who watch NXT and love it. Dave Meltzer and others have speculated that, in theory, if NXT does get on TV, that means Vince will want to take control of it, seeing as it will be on TV. And if that did happen, it could be horrible news for the NXT brand.
Now again, this is speculation, but its realistic and very possible, Vince taking over NXT might kill everything fans have come to love about the brand, the lack of scripted promos, the great matches the commentary, basicly everything, they may even drop the small arenas aswell.
Or maybe it wont, maybe vince will like NXT enough and perhaps adapt some of that to the main brands, thats another possibility, but admittedly not very likely.
In truth we dont know what Vince will do, will he decide that NXT being on TV means he should control it? will he trust Triple H enough to let him handle it? obviously time will tell, but i wanted to see what you all thought about the possibility of Vince taking over NXT as people have started to suggest, the logic is there, it is possible, the question is, what would happen to NXT if that did happen?
