As noted, Sting vs. Seth Rollins at September's WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view will be for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

It was noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon has not signed off on Rollins defending his WWE United States Title belt at Night of Champions yet. However, it was also noted that Rollins likely will be pulling double duty that night.

This is similar to what Ring of Honor just did with ROH World and ROH TV Champion Jay Lethal.

Yeah, I think he'll be pulling double duty at NOC, too.

It'll be him beating sting but losing to Cena. Or he will get beat by Cena for the U.S. Title and then get DQ for sting.

Or it'll be him losing both matches clean. lol But I doubt they'll go that route.

Sting shouldn't lose another match at this point. Maybe have Rollins beat Cena again to keep the US title and lose to Sting

He'll lose the U.S Title before he loses the WWEWH Title, and if he faces Cena again that'll be pretty probable.

Sting won't win, but it won't end clean.

they can't have sting get pinned again....it'll make him look very, very weak....he will most likely win by DQ...which will then prompt a rematch of some kind. Seth will for sure drop the title to John at NOC.

If Seth does cheat and pin Sting....it'll be sad....I mean why the fuck is Sting back then? To just lose all the time? I'm not saying he needs to be unbeatable, but he's a huge legend who has some more matches left in him....let him win some and lose some...and the ones he loses should be against guys like Seth...don't have his first match and loss be to Triple H...but, unfortunately, that's how they started Sting's run....

WWE doesn't shy away from the fact that Sting is old (near 50). Logically speaking most 50 year olds lose in fights to 29 year olds. Sting is a legend yes, but in WWE's eyes that also means that a loss doesn't really matter. And since it is wrestling he can get his comeuppance some other way.

Plus, Sting is the WCW franchise, and we know that Vince loves shitting on WCW. "Not even the icon of WCW could stop THE MAN of the WWE."

Triple H is 46 and cost Sting his first loss (I know Triple H is "the man of the WWE, but the age thing doesn't really always hold weight, even "logically" speaking). So they were close in age. Also, I said Seth can win....but, now, since Triple H already beat him...it would only make Sting look worse if Seth just pins him clean....His returns will be completely meaningless and everyone will know he just comes back to lose, because let's face it, 9 out of 10 opponents he faces will be "younger" than him. I just don't see the point if he can't even pick up some wins as he's still getting great pops and can hold his own in the ring.

The logic thing doesn't really hold true, or as an absolute, considering Taker just beat their top face, Brock. Logically the guy who ended the Streak, has never lost to Taker, and is a former UFC Heavyweight champion, would simply kill Taker. Sure, Taker could come close, because he's a legend...but it should've ended after the tap out or 4 F5's, logically speaking of course.

How else can he come up? I'm not even saying that sarcastically, please explain it. If he comes back to just lose matches....how else can they truly push Sting?

I don't see Sting walking out as WWE champion. If Seth does lose, I expect Sheamus to come in and take out Sting, then leave with the belt.

As for the US championship, I'm unsure of it. I wouldn't care much seeing Cena walk out or Seth with it. If Seth leaves the night with two belts though, I'll be a really happy jester.

'The Man of the WWE' thing is Seth's new moniker, Stop wasn't talking about Triple H in his closing sentence. And even if he were talking about Triple H, Sting is still a full decade older than him. Age is a factor in fights, it may not be the deciding factor, but it still plays a part. If it didn't, there wouldn't have been so many Rising Star/Grizzled Vet storylines that we've seen time and time again.
So you'd rather have Sting win the WWE Title in his second match with the WWE? The fact of the matter is that this match shouldn't be happening in the first place, but it is, and we can't do anything about it now. I don't disagree with you that Sting deserves a win, but not for the main title. Rollins has to win this, and it'll most likely be in a dirty fashion. This'll be the third PPV in a row that the ME hasn't ended clean, but they booked themselves in a corner with this.

But let's say Sting wins, he'll either get cashed in on almost immediately, which means another loss for him anyways. Or he'll be nowhere to be seen until the RTWM, and WWE will be left without the main title on RAW for the third time in the past couple of years. It'll all lead up to his next title match, and guess what? He'll lose.
How else can he come up? I'm not even saying that sarcastically, please explain it. If he comes back to just lose matches....how else can they truly push Sting?
Easy, with another dirty loss against him he'll be pissed off, and continue his 'fight' against The Authority. He can lead the charge against them and everything comes to ahead at Survivor Series. Whoever loses is done, and the winner's team captain gains control over WWE. Sting's Team wins, he's now known as the man who collapsed The Authority, and he's the new GM. That's not something that I necessarily want, but it shows just how easy Sting can continue on a good path after losing to Seth.

Rollins is either losing the belt or retiring it. It only has two routes at Night of Champions.

The WWE are not going to push a WCW creation like Sting. Vince McMahon is going to hammer in WWE > WCW til the end of time. I'll be surprised if Sting wins at all.

Rollins is holding the world title for a long time, possibly even beating Punks reign just to spite him.
