Was on Sky sports news last night when talking about Rooney potentially leaving. It's not goals:minutes, it includes assists as well. So goals:assists:minutes, which puts him above RVP (and maybe the best in the league I dunno). Rooney has 18 goals in all competitions, and the joint best assists in 10 (just for BPL, not sure for all competitions, but will be more). So that's already 28 goals he's been involved in. RVP has 25 goals in all competitions and 8 assists (just BPL again), but has played the most games for MU than anyone else this season, where as Rooney has missed quite a few more.

He's been better this season that he's getting credit for.
Not sure if he'll leave or not, we'd miss him but at the same time we have a lot of strong attacking/midfield players that could step up to the plate.
Welbeck is blossoming and when RVP is fitter than he seemed against Real the two of them could form quite the partnership. Although saying that, before RVP came along Welbeck and Rooney were blossoming together...

I too think he has been underrated this year surprisingly. His stats don't lie and in most games he has been one of our most influential players. In the early parts of the season he was not fit, and then he has missed large parts through injury. Rooney is a player that grossly under-performs even if he is slightly unfit. He needs to be at his peak to perform, and when he is, he's one of the worlds best.

But yeah, 95% of his games this year has resulted in him playing well. Media speculation does what media speculation does though.

I quite like him playing behind the forwards a little more. His vision is amazing in setting up goals and influential plays!
