Article title:
Chris Jericho says he'd be OK if he never wrestled again

LONDON, May 11 (UPI) --Semi-retired WWE wrestler Chris Jericho said that if he never wrestles again, it wouldn't bother him.
Jericho, whose real name is Chris Irvine, has left the World Wrestling Federation a few times now, but said that he'd be OK with it if he never returned.
"You know if I never wrestle again it won't bother me, I don't want the big send-off -- I don't want the big farewell match where I'm in the ring crying in front of 70,000 fans because I'm such a hero and my career is done, I don't look at it that way. My career continues to move forward," he told Britain's Mirror.
"One day much to my fans' chagrin I won't be wrestling anymore but I'll playing rock 'n' roll in your town, or I'll be doing a podcast and you can hear me twice a week, or I'll be acting in some show or I'll be doing a spoken word performance. It's not like I'm just going to dry up and go away when I finish wrestling.
"Much of what I've been doing over the last few years is what I'm going to be doing for the next 20 years or 30 years, and less and less of that will be in-ring performing. Not that I couldn't still go out there now and kick ass and tear it up because that's what I do but when the time comes that I feel I couldn't do that anymore then I won't do it," he added

I don't know about you guys, but I'd like to see him come back for that "one more match", but it sounds like he'd be okay if it never happened. Would you guys care if Jericho never came back? I'm sure some of you are thinking this right now ---> \__/

I'm indifferent as to whether he makes another return or not (although he likely will at some point.) But if he doesn't, then I'm happy for him to have realized that there's life beyond the wrestling ring and it's good to see him already focusing on non-wrestling related projects and being content if he never laces up his boots ever again. At least we'll never have to worry about Jericho becoming one of those old-timers (i.e. Hogan. Flair, etc.) who just can't let it go, even long after their body tells them to.

I'm a huge Chris Jericho fan, I saw this statement; he loves his Metal and would love to keep doing more music projects but I mean one last string of matches would be a great way to end it.

I still think he has some heart for wrestling and deep down he really doesn't want to go but he knows his limits and his body and knows that he doesn't have much time remaining.

Being in a Metal band takes enough a toll on someone's body :)

If he doesn't come back (personally I think he will show up for at least one more big match; if not one more big story line) I would be upset but I'd understand.

There's a huge lack of main-event talent right now, so I'd like to see Jericho back definitely, bu not if he's jobbing like his last run.

Has Y2J faced Bryan yet? That would be a great title match for SummerSlam.

They were in an Elimination Chamber match last year and it was pretty dope when the two of them were going at it and then on DB's NXT debut he had a pretty solid match vs Jericho IIRC.

So technically not on the big stage in the main event scene; would be an awesome one.

Of course he wouldn't mind never returning, the longer he is off the more there will be talk about it. I know he is early 40's but he is still one of the best on the mic, and with the unified title being abused here we could always have a Y2J run again. IDGAF if he loses, because the matches have been great if not awesome time after time.

Honestly at this point in WWE, I would love to see a SaveUsY2J comeback. He is a part timer I would love to see as champ.

Said the guy rocking the Vinny Mac steroid body avatar. How old was he there?

I'm also indifferent at this point whether he comes back or not. I wouldn't be against it but I'm not losing any sleep over him being away either.

Haha I don't think anyone's losing sleep over him being away, I think it's more about the anticipation of seeing if he's still got it being a part timer who's been away for awhile. For anyone to lose sleep over anything professional wrestling related is a bit of an oxymoron :)

It was just hyperbole, haha.
