Keeping in line with Axel's "I was never eliminated from the Rumble" shtick, you think they might pull the same trick with him that they did with Rusev last year (or Santino in 2011), where he hides underneath the ring and then sneak attacks Reigns (after Reigns has cleared out all the other competitors and thinks he's won) and tries to throw him out to win but ends up being the last man eliminated instead? Imagine the weird pop Axel would get if he threw Reigns over the top rope and thought he won the match and the title for a second only for Reigns to come back in after hanging on and spear him and toss him out. You could even add a little extra humor to it later by having Axel reason with flimsy logic that since both of Reigns' feet touched the floor (but not at the same time, let's say), he should be the champion.
On the other hand, imagine the lulz if Axel actually succeeded and won the title for all of one night. And then lost it back to Reigns the very next night on Raw. Total Russo-eque idea that I know has no chance of ever happening, just saying.
I know it's far more likely that Axel probably ends up being the quickest man eliminated instead (followed by him boasting that he still lasted longer than anyone ever has in a Rumble match in history, since he was never officially eliminated last year), but either way, I expect them to incorporate his non-elimination from last year into this year's match in some small way.
