Regarding TNA using Kip James in the main event of the Genesis pay-per-view, they had nobody around and felt it was too short of a time to get someone new when they found out Kevin Nash couldn't wrestle. They could have made a desperation phone call to someone like Rick Steiner in Atlanta, but the decision came down to two choices, either put Kip in or do a tag match with Scott Steiner & Booker T vs. Mick Foley
and either Devon or AJ Styles. The idea would have been to do a deal where Devon got beat down and hurt, ending with a heel DQ finish and then Cornette & Foley would restart the match, like they did. With Devon down, Styles and Foley would work as a team and Foley would have pinned Steiner for the win. Jeff Jarrett liked the scenario with Kip James better, so that's what they went with. The feeling was that Kip would actually make the match better since he could do a lot more than Nash could. The argument against it was that the fans would crap on Kip considering his current gimmick and everything else. The reason nobody else in the company was used, like they have with Kaz and Eric Young in the past, is because there were complaints that using guys like that weakened the match in the fans' eyes.

I think that was my reason too - they needed someone on late notice and had to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Tough break for TNA in the end. Cute Kip siding with the supposed badass heel gang of the MEM was too weird.

Well at least he went back to being bad-ass Kip James, rather than sexually awkward Cute Kip. And really, could you imagine Eric Young or Kaz in this? We'd end up with some useless turn, which is what I think we're all sick of in TNA, and wrestling in general.

Hey! Its the Japanese lover! I was watching Burst Angel (series) :shifty:
But seriously, I was super busy with the Medical Conference. Finished most of the preparations from my part, but still few more things needed.

Seriously i like tna its ok like but im not being funny. I might get a lot of heat for this but who gives a shit about kip James in that main event? I mean what has he done since? Nothing sod all, so technically hes done a main event first time in years. Tna is slowly starting to suck once again. So this thread is a bit low key for a conversation about kip replacing Nash. Is it really that big of a deal? I may sound a bit shallow here but if you think about it isn't it pointless till having this thread?

Having Kip in your main event shows a severe lack of depth when it comes to your roster. They have some good talent up front, and some name guys, but who is there after that?

Shark boy, eric young, lance hoyt that about it i think lol. I would have used a random heel who has talent not a washed up ass like mr ass.

Too be honest, though, TNA didn't have much of a choice without someone pulling Double Duty. I understand why they picked him since he wasn't really involved in anything, but to say he would be a better choice for it? I honestly would have sped up the Matt Morgan heel turn and used him. Hell I honestly think Davairi (I still don't want to call him Bashir) would have been a better choice. At least he gets a decent reaction.
