SJ is now the number 1 contender vs Brock. With a rumoured Brock/Reigns WM 34 match it kind of hints at who will win the rumble. But I think Joe will beat Brock.

1. Reigns/Brock at WM 34 may not actually happen.
2. Even if it does you do not need the title involved.
3. Ratings are in the shitter, they need the main title off a part timer IMHO.
4. It seems insane to leave the title on a part timer for over a year.
5. Joe is sort of a big deal atm and he is not getting any younger.
6. it believable Joe can beat Brock, then he can always lose the title later and have it end up on Balor/Rollins etc.
7. Without the title being available due to Lesnar being part time how many RAWs involving the IC title as the top belt will the fans put up with.

So that is my logic. I could be very wrong, logic+Vince+WWE.

I agree here, Joe should and hopefully will grab the title leading to some sort of distraction to cause Lesnar to lose, maybe a Braun teaser signifying a match between the two at SummerSlam leading to a Balor v Joe feud which is still great to see.

As much as I'd love for Joe to win the title I don't see it happening. The writers for RAW have made it clear that Joe, Wyatt, Strowman, Balor, Reigns and Rollins are the six that'll challenge Lesnar at some point leading to WrestleMania. Lesnar Vs. any of those six is money and it practically books itself. Joe like the other 4, as much as it hurts to say it, will be built strong to eventually make Roman look strong at WrestleMania.

I hope I'm wrong.

Nah, Joe won't beat him. He'll get crushed, much like Orton back at SummerSlam.

Its a real shame the outcome of this match is so predictable...as I was really excited to see
this match at one point...but now...its all leading to Wrestlemania 34 and Vince's Chosen One
defeating the Beast and being crowned Universal Champion.

Rumor is that Joe vs. Lesnar will be a one and done with Strowman facing Lesnar at Summerslam.

Say what you want about SmackDown...but I'd rather Jinder be the top guy on the unpredictable
brand than just sitting around and waiting for the "grand plan" to play out on RAW.

Now Joe vs. Lesnar in a non-title cage match...I'd pay to watch that.

I don't know, I wouldn't mind Lesnar holding the title for a year. He's been holding it for 2 months now and it already feels more special to me, simply because we don't see it every monday. People complain about overexposure on WWE programming all the time but now all of a sudden it's a problem when Lesnar isn't around every week. Just think about how important it feels to have a number 1 contender now.. it didn't feel that special when Seth or Roman were #1 contenders to Owens' title. I mean, when was the last time a number 1 contender's match main evented a PPV? That's huge and it helps building these world title matches. Great Balls of Fire is a special PPV just because Brock Lesnar will defend his title on it and that's an incredible power to have.

People will hate me for this but I hope Lesnar retains simply because we can have so many great matches to build this newly created title up to the prestige it should have. The more people Brock Lesnar beats at Great Balls of Fire, Summerslam, Survivor Series and the Rumble, the more important this title will feel. And if the plan is to have Reigns take it from him at Mania, so what? They let him beat Triple H & the Undertaker in the past Manias.. if you don't make Reigns the greatest performer alive now, it's basically like disrespecting the Undertaker because he put him over to be just that

I want Joe to win purely for the fact that Brock will be booked to squash him which will bury Joe as a competitor. If Joe is not going to win at least give him a proper match with Lesnar & show there are guys who can actually go with Brock. I'm growing tired of suplex city matches ending quickly. The Universal title has been seriously devalued and I'm growing tired of Ambrose/Miz being the feud for the "top" week to week belt. Get that title back on TV and get it on someone who is there week in week out. In addition get Balor back in there for a proper shot against Joe because you've still got that storyline that he never lost the belt so they really need to do that match.

He could be around though just no in the ring. Hogan in 10 years wrestled on free TV 60 times so there is a bit to be siad about a champion appearance meaning something. Hogan would cut promos though and make an appearance.

First of all, completely different era. Second of all Lesnar's around when he needs to be around. Like, what are you gonna do with Lesnar if there's no program for him? Just let Heyman talk about how great he is, just so people can complain about how Lesnar gets paid for standing in a ring? Now that he has a feud with Joe, there's a reason for him to appear again and he will next week. So I still don't see the problem

The match will be a bust. Suplex after suplex and then f5. B-lez wins

Joe will most likely lose, conclusively but without being squashed. Lesnar is off TV right now but every time he returns he'll be popping ratings and playing starmaker. Plus, the drop in ratings right now has been overstated. The gap from mania until Summerslam has low ratings every year when the biggest stars vanish (Cena/Jericho/Lesnar/Rock usually/HHH) and new storylines are put in place.

This is actually the biggest gap we're likely to have without Lesnar. He's booked to appear in 6 major matches this season. Others could potentially appear but it's more likely than now we'll see those matches at GBOF, Summerslam, Hell in a Cell, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. Based on current booking the favourites, in order are Joe, Strowman, Wyatt (in the cell), Balor, Rollins and finally Reigns.

His contract also covers extra appearances this year, meaning that he's going to appear on Raw more often. The reason he's coming back next week is because after memorial day Raw ratings always start their way back up, so WWE is going to start pushing harder.

I think this is a good storyline and it will result in major pushes for the six men mentioned, plus The Miz as backup heel and most important champ who's actually there. That said, only Rollins is likely to get the IC belt from him of those top guys. I don't see Joe winning because Joe vs everyone else isn't a marquee match now.

Every time Lesnar wrestles, the world will be watching. This is the best way to get eyes on their top stars.
