The tribute episodes on RAW and Smackdown the night after Eddie passed away were sad because he was still in the middle of his feud with Batista at the time and had not yet had his rematch with him for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which was rumored for him to have won that same night had he not died. But the following months after that were unnecessary, pushing Rey Mysterio on his behalf to win the Royal Rumble match, making Randy Orton say that Eddie is in hell, giving him segments before Mysterio's matches in which he would pray to Eddie, then winning the World Heavyweight Championship on his behalf at WrestleMania 22 against Kurt Angle and Randy Orton and even putting Guererro in the Hall Of Fame posthumously, with Vickie Guerrero (his widow) accepting the award on Eddie's behalf and then making her a permanent character on the show (although she did make a few appearances on Smackdown when Eddie was alive while he was feuding with Rey Mysterio over who his son was or something). But this whole Eddie thing was ridiculous, it's also why Chris Benoit killed his own family and himself nearly two years later (or at least part of the reason why). Who was responsible for this crap ?

Any true old school guy would let their death be a part of a storyline, usually for a heel to get mega heat off e.g. Paul Bearer's death being used as part of the Punk/Undertaker feud. Paul's family gave the WWE permission to do that segment because they knew he was old school and would be okay with it.

Eddie was also an old school guy. I see no problem. I don't buy that that was one of the reasons Benoit did what he did. That was just mental illness which came about through multiple concussions.

....what's your source on that one? Cause I don't remember that being a reason.

Shortly after Eddie Guerrero died, Benoit had written notes in his diary about him and his family being dead and being with Eddie in heaven or something like that. I got it from a documentary about Chris Benoit that was made shortly after his own death in 2007. It's on YouTube.

Well yeah, but that wasn't because of this crappy storyline, it was because of Eddie dying in general
