Who Would Save the World?

I am a bit of sci-fi nerd and a comic book nerd and an action movie nerd... so I was wondering... in the realm of comic books, sci fi and action movies, if the world was under attack from a formidable enemy and you could pick any sci fi, comic or action movie character to save the world... who would you pick?

Depends. what is the world being attacked by? We can't really put someone like Jason Bourne against a meteorite.

I left it general on purpose to allow everyone to use their imagination.

Superman would clearly work in almost every scenario. So I guess he would be the one I'd pick.

Personally I'd be split between the Doctor and Captain Kirk. Both have these attributes that would serve them well in any scenario. Kirk has this strength of will that causes him to continue to not give up and find any way to come out on top.

But the Doctor is just so freaking intelligent that a man with almost no powers (other than regenerating and the TARDIS) is able to use his intellect to pretty much cause the defeat of any number of enemies.

In a pinch, I'd pick the Doctor. My heart steers towards Kirk though,

Gojira (Godzilla) would be my pick...

As has been proven in past films...he's a giant territorial animal
with a mega-tonne of atomic fire power with a knack for fighting
off alien invaders. Once the Aliens have been destroyed or
retreat...Gojira will return to the ocean to rest and recover.

See Godzilla: Final Wars for the best example of this...

Joseph Joestar, he was able to a beat an unkillable vampire god by outsmarting it and sending it to the vaccum of space. Proper Hamon training for a world ending threat will mean that he'll live for a VERY long time.

He is currently the self described "Cosmic Protector of Humanity"

That's a shame...I was a big fan of the Sentry/Void dynamic...
