Nigel Mcguinness has been a good champion so far, but we all know he is going to eventually lose that ROH World Title. Who do you think should be the next ROH World Champion? I'm going to say Bryan Danielson, with rumors of The American Dragon possibly signing with WWE, I'm thinking that ROH is going to give him one last World title run before he leaves. And also, ROH has been teasing another Nigel vs Dragon match, especially at Take No Prisoners when Nigel did the "I have until 5" thing...

What do you guys think?

I don't see Nigel's run ending anytime soon, he's beaten all of the credible contenders, beating Aries twice and Danielson while still "injured". He beat Claudio and Steen, and those were the two guys everyone was looking to. I could see the belt move maybe at the end of the summer, because there just aren't that many guys left IMO.

I think that Tyler Black has a pretty big chance to win it someday. Roderick Strong seems like another good choice to me.

I believe they're building towards Danielson becoming the first two-time ROH World Heavyweight Champion, they've already planted the seeds for it (with ArmDrag facing guys Nigel has already beaten to earn a shot) so that's my pick. But Nigel will be champion for a bit longer before dropping it to Bryan.

Good thread...

Okay, Nigel has had the title for a long time now and he has beaten alot of guys. But the two guys that I think will have the most chance of winning the title is Chris Hero and Austin Aries. I don't know if they would have heel vs heel fued with Hero and Nigel but they are both really hated, it would be a good match though and adding say Danielson into the match would give everyone to cheer for. Austin Aries on the other hand has been in the title picture quite alot and then they could have him go for it against Nigel in some big match and have Aries come out on top. I would love to see any of those really and Nigel needs to lose the title imo, he has had it for a long time...

I think its going to be somewhat of a shocker. Its a toss up right now. I'm kinda leaning towards the underdogs. I could Roddy going face and getting a monster push, assuming the fans jump back on board. On the other hand, you can't count out guys like Jimmie Jacobs, Kevin Steen, Brent Albright and Tyler Black. I think ROH might go with a newer guy, rather than a "older" vet like Danielson, Aries, Claudio, Hero. (not really old, but old as in their time in ROH may be running short)

Personally i still want them to put the belt on Jimmy Jacobs, cause that would be fucking awesome..but realistically like someone already mentioned i think they are grooming Bryan to be the first two time ROH champ

Jacobs would be a good choice for a short term ROH World Champ, and it could help to bring some much-needed credibility to AOTF. They need tbh. Then they could give the ROH Tag Team Titles to Necro and Black, keep Black the star of AOTF (Which he is) and have Jacobs as the wiley-champion, faking injuries and having Black filling in... before dropping the Title to Black...
