Consider that, If you are placed for judge at Oscar Film Festival. Now u have top most and po....r movies in front of you which all are released in this 2009 year. Which film you choose. Yet, no nomination is going as per your view which movie is deserve this award..?
I think AVATAR deserve for it..

District 9 was a visual rape on my eyes. I'd love a 3D version of it.

And by the way, Avatar came out 17th/18th worldwide. That classifies as an 09 movie.

I felt a bit underwhelmed by Inglorious Basterds. But then again, the only Brad Pitt movie I've really liked is Fight Club.
