Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. The funny thing is, I don't consider either of them the best ever. The best play by play guy in history was Gordon Solie and the best color commentator was Jesse Ventura. But Monsoon and Heenan had a chemistry that no other commentary team has had since. Best friends in real life, you'd never know it by listening to them. No other team can compare.

JR and the King are pretty good, but not nearly as great.

I can't say because I didn't watch during that time. I mean Heenan was great with Mongo McMichael and Eric Bischoff. I loved Joey Styles in ECW as well

Oh I wasn't commenting on your answer, sorry if it came across that way. It was just a thought that occurred to me so I definitely wasn't judging your opinion :)

It's ok I started watching in 2004 and remember getting mad when J.R. was kayfabe fired. I wrote an angry letter to the McMahons but never sent it. I was 13, I got the idea from That's so Raven. Good times. I love J.R. the King not so much unless he's with J.R. maybe Coach

Yeah Monsoon and Jesse were good for the time but I don't know to me they can't compare to JR and King. Bobby Heenan was the heel of all time tho.

Didn’t even had to think for a second - Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler. Simply best there is, best there was, and the best there ever will be - if I may use Hitman’s words. They had such amazing chemistry and skills, Lawler was the funny one and JR was the knowledgeable narrator.
