You know, the tag-team main events over two feuds? Like say Dolph was feuding with Randy, and Punk with HHH, the tag team match would be Punk and Dolph vs Randy & HHH etc. It feels like we haven't had one of those in a while which is pretty good, but I've probably just jinxed that.

Does anyone remember the last one we had though?

I assume he means as the main event of a PPV.

Last time I recall is a combination of the Wrestlemania 23 world title matches at No Way Out the month before. Opponents having to team with one another to face off against the people from the other brand (the Raw WM main event of Cena/Michaels versus the Smackdown WM main event of Undertaker/Batista.)

Yea they've been better about that lately. Well, at least now those types of matches aren't main events.

I'm pretty sure he means Raw. And he has a point, I myself can't remember when it happened. But then again I don't even remember what happened on Raw this week. But alright.

In that case, I don't see the problem with those types of main events. They're no less generic than the singles matches we get, really.

Well I'm happy they are not doing them any more because I think they are pointless and predictable, and they always seem like an easy way to book a main event of a show.

Usually people call him Orton. When I first read that, I thought you meant Gohan. :dawg:

But yeah, I can't remember any one of those matches for main events either. At least for awhile, but then again I have shit memory.

Quite a while ago now. Maybe because it's RTWM though.

Nope, RAW.

I disagree completely. They happen way too often and it's a constant insult to fan intelligence. Oh look this heel who likes no one and is the most selfish person ever is now teaming up and being friendly to this other heel who is only in it for himself, and now they're working together. Nice.

It's fine once in a while because it can progress two feuds at once, but when it's overplayed it's really pathetic imo.

lol This is not anywhere near the most irritating thing in wrestling for me. I guess I don't mind it because with shows every week and PPVs every month, it's hard(er) to come up with original singles matches every week. Throwing these sort of tag matches out there gives them more options to work with.

I understand that and when it's done now and then it works perfectly, but there was a recent period where it was almost every week. I remember the Teddy Long jokes; the only good thing to come out of constant tag-team main events.

I much prefer things like on this weeks RAW. Punk done something to piss off Kane, so they fight in the main event, and then the result is effected by his real feud which is Undertaker. I think it speaks about the lack of creativity in WWE if they find it hard to provide alternative main events.

A more annoying thing for me is when they don't even have planned main events for Raw or Smackdown, from a kayfabe point of view. They're always made at the start of the show because of some spontaneous happening (confrontation or whatever), as if we're supposed to think WWE doesn't even have a booked main event match for the show that night already.

Agreed. I don't mind if they're made top of the hour matches, but the actual main event should be planned and advertised from the beginning imo. Normally those segments you're talking about end in tag-team matches, lol.
