I first saw Cena in 2002 when he came up short in his first televised match against Kurt Angle on Smackdown despite putting up a good fight against him but it wasn't until he started the hip hop stuff where he came out to the ring wearing sports jerseys, caps and chains and would cut promos in the form of raps (which were more like nursery rhymes) to diss his opponents. It was originally a heel gimmick but the crowd loved it, which turned John a face. But when the crowd start booing him ? Was it after Cena beat JBL for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21 ? Or after he went to RAW from Smackdown in 2005 from the draft ? I can't remember exactly when it started.

I don't think it's necessarily when the consistent hate started, but the first time I remember people legit booing him on a PPV was New Years Revolution 06, when Edge cashed in and all that jazz but weirdly enough cheered for him again when he made Edge look like a complete jabroni 3 weeks later at the Rumble. So from 05-09 I'd say it was a bit of an on and off deal with some people cheering and some booing. With Cena it was always a mixed bag but after 09 people legit started hating the man's guts for still being a top player. Obviously the internet also added more fuel to the fire and spread the words of every smark on the planet around that time

You like making threads don't you? ;)

I actually always hated Cena, but I started respecting him around 2015 when he started having better matches.

The first time I heard cena sucks was when he faced Y2J at summer slam 2005

The legit heat started when he began his rivarly with Kurt angle

The boos reached its peak at wrestlemania 22 vs HHH

The strong Cena hate began at WrestleMania 22 because it was a Chicago crowd and the first event he was severely booed at.

I know, I was there.

Furthermore, do not revive three year old dead threads. If you want to discuss the topic, start a new thread. Many of the members involved in an old thread might not be here to respond. It's unfair to respond in this way.

I am locking this.
