I first saw Cena in 2002 when he came up short in his first televised match against Kurt Angle on Smackdown despite putting up a good fight against him but it wasn't until he started the hip hop stuff where he came out to the ring wearing sports jerseys, caps and chains and would cut promos in the form of raps (which were more like nursery rhymes) to diss his opponents. It was originally a heel gimmick but the crowd loved it, which turned John a face. But when the crowd start booing him ? Was it after Cena beat JBL for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21 ? Or after he went to RAW from Smackdown in 2005 from the draft ? I can't remember exactly when it started.
