What was the point of the Shield segment?

Don't worry, I'm not complaining, I marked like crazy for this. But this had to set up something else. Both guys seem lost in the shuffle right now.

When they took out Henry, what was the point of that segment? Just reasserting them as a force to be reckoned with? A face turn for someone? Setting up a feud? Writing Henry off? Something else?

It seems more likely to be a way of writing Henry off, probably so he can return later and go into a feud with the Shield as a babyface.

I don't even know what the fuck goes on with the Shield these days. I never thought I would see the day where a group beats the top faces of the company, then shortly after gets put on the kickoff show. The whole thing is whack to me. But I'm going to go on a limb here and say that this is a way of telling us that Henry is officially done, there is absolutely nothing for him to do anymore. Which is really sad because he's been at his best as of late.

When's the last time The Shield actually zoned in and surrounded and overwhelmed a new target? It seems they haven't really done this since they won the gold, so it was awesome to see again for that reason alone (not to mention lifting a 400 pounder in the air into a power bomb.) I would have preferred for them to explain their actions on Smackdown instead of the App but meh.

I'm guessing it's a way for Henry to take a few weeks to a month off, and then come back as a fresh baby face, which I like. I hated it before because I wanted to get a Henry/Cena feud and that would never happen with Henry as a face but now that we've been there and done that, I'm ok with Henry as a fan favorite again. Like with Orton and Punk, he doesn't really have to change his persona at all, just start feuding with heels and talking about putting them in the Hall Of Pain rather than baby faces. Let the 'WWE Universe' cheer him without pondering to them and smiling for them. I like the idea of him telling The Shield that he's never put three people in the Hall Of Pain at once but there's a first time for everything and he's getting ready to.

Don't really care why WWE did this. I think it's just to keep proving that The Shield are there, because I heard from a lot of people that they were going to lose the belts soon. I think they want to make them look as dominant as when they started.

At one point The Shield would come out every other match or segment and attack who they wanted. I would have enjoyed it better if their reasoning was to prove they are still dominant and that they can do whatever they want. Sadly it looks like we are gonna get a storyline out of this which will involve a tweener/face Henry. *sigh*
