Ok, let's have some fun dreaming of the future here, but try to be sensible and realistic at the same time... What level can John Morrison get to? We heard JR tonight call him "the next Megastar of WWE" and we all know he has talent. Bit of a stretch? Probably. But where do you see him climbing to? An icon (HBK, Hart, etc), a megastar (Rock, Austin, Cena, etc), a full time main eventer (Edge, Jericho, etc), a lower main eventer (Jeff Hardy, Rey, Punk), or will he not make it at all?
What do you see him becoming in the WWE scene? I think WWE is going to do all they can to make this guy big, but I highly, highly doubt he'll be THE guy at any point. I see him actually making it above the likes of Jeff, Punk, and Rey, and although not being in the Cena, Orton, realm (or in the past, Austin, Rock), I could see him fitting in the Edge/Jericho mode. I see alot of comparisons to Jericho. Obviously we all know of the character similarities, but I think he'll have a shockingly similar career. I think he'll be able to be the same type of guy Jericho is, where he can be considered WM main event worthy at points, and also be lower in the main event scene at other points..
Which level of main eventing do you think this guy can reach?

Overhyped and Overrated. He'll never be what people think he will, which kind of isn't fair for him to have these kind of expectations for him, being the internet darling and all. Having said that, it was a smart move for a face turn given his current skillset. He'll end up being a reliable guy to have around for WWE whenever they need someone with cool moves to excite the crowd and probably end up being a guy hanging around but not in the main title scene for awhile. And he might even lose a title match by Royal Rumble. A 1 and done world title run, maybe 2. Can't see him doing much beyond that. Kind of like Mysterio or Hardy like you said right now.

I can compare him with AJ Styles (presence and skills). But, and I say BUT that he will never get an easy chance like AJ's due to the amount of maineventers in WWE.

Morrison can win the US championship and solidify himself to that point. But they can try him to compete in #1 contender matches for the WHC for a year or so. Then let him win a MITB match just like Punk did. (eventhough I still dont see Punk as a solid maineventer no matter how WWE are trying to convince us about him and made him won a WHC before, but still not convincing me at all).

Basically what WS said.

2009: 2 IC title reigns, 1 #1 contender WWE title match.

2010: WWE title shot loss, MITB win. Upper mid carder fully.

2011: Cashes in, WWE Champion. Full main eventer by year's end.

Bear in mind WS that a lot of the WWE's main eventers are in the twilight of their careers. I mean Triple H, Taker, HBK and even Jericho are all on the wrong side of 40 or approaching that age, so it would seem that we'll be seeing a glut of new main eventers spring up over the next couple of years.

Personally I love Morrison's in-ring work and he sports the hallmark of a future great: a gimmick that just shouldn't work but somehow does. I reckon he'll be up there with Cena if they can book him right and give him the spotlight he deserves.
