What to do with Nigel McGuiness?

I don't know who's aware of this, but Nigel is rapidly becoming the John Cena of ROH. He won the title and most of the fans decided to turn on him. Some people say he's using the Lariat too much, even going as far as saying its his only move.

Others have turned on him because he didn't decide to defend the title despite being injured, again, going as far as saying that his injuries are fake and he was able to work through them.

So what should ROH do with Nigel? Do they leave him as a face, even if it means having every fan turn on him? Or do they turn him heel and let him rip the fans that have already turned on him?

My thoughts: TURN HIM HEEL! Not just because of the negative reactions he's been getting, but because it'll only get worse when he's in the ring against the likes of Claudio, Danielson, Hero, and Aries. Wrestlers with big fanbases that are bound to cheer these guys over Nigel.

Not only that, but during his run with the Pure Title, Nigel proved that he can be a pretty good heel.. So I would turn him.

What do you guys think should happen with Nigel?

Nigel is a very good wrestler tbh. I havent really seen much of his mic work, but every time I watched him, he seemed to be very over. IDK, I still say give it to Jacobs

I really like Nigel imo, and he'd be a good superstar, either Heel or Face. I'd say keep em face for a while, see how it goes. Then put him up against Aries, make it interesting. Then, if all else fails, send him to the Heel side

Not really.. I say turn him heel and have him feud with Danielson awhile.

He has the whole heel look anyway. Making him a heel would work, but maybe have him drop the strap for a while first.

If he is hurt, drop the title to Chris Hero. If he isnt hurt, either turn him heel or run a program where he realizes he isnt over anymore. It would be like the old Mick Foley - Tommy Dreamer feud, where nothing Dreamer had done could get him over, and Foley made that fact known.

And Nigel was a heel in the past, it worked fine.

I say try and keep him face for a while, but perhaps still ducking out of some title defenses to piss some fans off. Then have a Danielson /Nigel match. Have Nigel cheat and win somehow finally getting his first W over danielson. Danielson officially goes face, and Nigel goes heel after.

well,if he's good enough to play heel,why not?? atleast the challenger's for his title can play face with ease..and i think there r lot of guys good enough for the title matches like Bryan Danielson,Chris Hero,Jimmy Jacobs( i haven't seen him though)..have to download new ROH matches from recent past to see him..

LMAO That would be hilarious. I wouldn't put it past Gabe, Samoa Joe was champion for just about two years. I dont think we're going to seethe first two time champion for a while so that takes away the possibilities of Dragon winning again. Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black are tag champs, so that takes Jacobs off the list. Hero, and probably Roderick Strong are my favorites for the title. Strong is due for a nice title reign, the FIP title really meant nothing.

It actually sucks that the fans have turned on Nigel like this, Especially after just winning the big one. After watching Glory By Honor like 2 weeks ago , I couldn't blame them. I mean Nigel really did look like a pussy after his speech about getting injured and stuff when Hero challenged him. Anyway I say if he really is hurt and needs some time to recover then let him drop the title to Aries, Danielson or Chris Hero cause I don't see him losing the title to Morishima on their upcoming match. I mean if the guy can't defend his belt cause of an injury then he shouldn't hold it for the mean time cause the fans are really bound to turn on you that way.

But if his got what it takes to stick with the program then I think the whole "I am hurt, Yet I'm defending the title for you" gimmick should be dropped cause thats been used time and time again. Drop that and make him stick as a face, See what happens for a while and if nothing comes out of it then by all means go with plan b and make him heel.
