So this was my first year back watching wrestling...and I've missed a lot over the years...
The Rise of John Cena, Daniel Bryan kicking everyone in the face and some guy named CM Punk...
I'm not sure what he did...something about a pipebomb or something.

Anyway...its been many years since I watched wrestling full time and like many out there I
enjoyed the skin filled, beer drinking, cross chopping time that was the Attitude era...and
it got to me thinking...what if it was the Attitude Era...today?

How different would the WWE landscape truly be? Well...how about I spin a few hypotheticals
past you guys.

Eva Marie...The Face of Company:
No doubt Eva Marie would have been promoted just like Sable was back in day...
and I'm sure the WWE would used every opportunity to have her show as much
skin as possible. Sable proved you didn't need talent or a personality back then...
so that would have been perfect for Eva.

Dean Ambrose: A True Hardcore Lunatic:
If any one WWE superstar was born too late...it was Dean Ambrose. This
guy would have absolutely killed it in the Attitude Era...both in Hardcore
matches and on the mic. Just imagine the carnage and chaos he could
unleash without the PG-13 restrictions.

The Wyatt Cult Expands And Dominates:
Again...back in the Attitude Era...factions seemed more prevalent...
and no wrestling faction would have thrived like the Wyatt Family.
Not only would they have the original four members...but adding
old veterans like Big Show and Kane plus young talent like Baron
Corbin & Bo Dallas(known as Reggie Wyatt) would make them
unstoppable. Bray Wyatt would have been a multiple time
World Champion already and truly the New Face of Fear.

Charlotte vs. Sasha...in a Bikini Contest?:
While both women basically wrestle in swimsuits anyway (Nice work ladies)
if it was the Attitude Era...both women (no matter how good they were in the ring)
would be expected to parade around in their smallest of smalls and possibly have
Jerry Lawler squirt them with a super soaker. Ugh...Just typing that made me feel
like I need to take a shower.

Carmella...The Crazy Stalker:
While WWE is playing the Carmella/Nikki Bella feud fairly straight...you just
know in the Attitude Era Carmella would have been a Thuganomics Era
John Cena obsessed fan girl who would have attacked and possibly kidnapped
Nikki Bella to be closer to Cena. Think Mickie James with Trish...only worse.
She would have eventually been committed to an insane asylum before
returning as a catholic nun. What? I'm thinking Attitude Era writing here people.

Who's Bayley?:
So the Bayley we know would never have had a chance in the Attitude Era...
No chance in Hell. See what I did there?

The New Day...As the New Nation (of Domination):
And I guess you could also throw in Titus O'Neil, Apollo Crews and R-Truth
as well and...oh shit...so yeah...this one is a bit tricky...but let's just say it
could have happened in the Attitude Era and move on to the next idea.

The 205 Invasion:
So...I'm pretty sure if it was the Attitude Era...Triple H and THE Brian Kendricks
would have led the top cruiserweights in a hostile invasion angle which would have
seen the top champions of the WWE attacked constantly by the 205 Crew. Kalisto,
Sin Cara, Neville & Alexa Bliss would have all sided with the invaders...and possibly
in the biggest twist/shock...Finn Bálor would have turned heel siding with the
Cruiserweights at a key moment during a big 4 pay per view.

The Family Steps Up:
And who would try to fight off the 205 Invasion? Well...the Family of course.
Roman Reigns, Rosey, Manu, The Usos, Naomi & Nia Jax...with occasional
appearances by the Rock and Rikishi just for some big pay per view moments.

The Miz...the Top Heel:
While I know the Miz has been a main event star before...if it was the
Attitude Era right now...the Miz would be like The Rock in his heel prime.
The Miz really would be a true WWE superstar in every sense of the word
and no doubt his face would be everywhere and on everything.

General Manager Undertaker:
I'm sure that Taker could still add to his legacy even if he was
sitting behind a desk wearing a suit. It would be a black suit of course.

NXT = OVW:
So I doubt that the developmental wrestling would have its own shows
and pay-per-vew events...so it would be back to the old school OVW style
of grooming and training talent for the big leagues.

And that's all I could actually think of...did I miss any? Sound off and post
your own hypothetical Attitude Era Today ideas.

If it was the attitude era today the main feud in the Women's division would be Charlotte vs Natalya instead of Charlotte vs Sasha just because it would be A Flair Vs A Hart.

Eva Marie is hotter than Sable, I have not seen her in the WWE yet.

Okay, if all of the parameters of the Attitude Era were in effect (and WWE was prepared to absorb the media firestorm that would ensue)...I'll start with two.

"The Anarchist" Dean Ambrose - Part Joker, part Brian Pillman, this version of Dean Ambrose is the cornerstone of the company. Random acts of senseless rebellion and destruction to go against the staid power of The Authority, who wants to return the company to the kid-friendly, politically correct realm that it had been.

"Face of the Company" John Cena - Big Match John is essentially the same character, although perhaps with the merchandising amped up even further (a new t-shirt design every week). He's embraced HHH/Vince/Stephanie's vision of the company and is their primary weapon against rebellious elements like Ambrose.

The shirts below would all be laid out in a five week period.

That mix for Ambrose sounds about spot on. I would imagine he would dabble in more hardcore matches like Foley as well.

Interesting read.

Spot on with Ambrose, man. He was born to be in the Attitude Era.
