I remember during the early days of the brand extension Raw and Smackdown built each other up. This was during the last days of the Monday Night Wars. Every wrestler was featured on both Raw and Smackdown. They were seen as one roster instead of today's two rosters. Promos were made to build up PPVs and the next televised show.
During this time Raw and Smackdown built up each other's shows.
Times have changed. The WWE brought WCW and not everyone can appear on the same show. The WWE began making changes to the brand extension after the Invasion and NWO stories. Now each brand has a different roster. The shows cannot longer build each other up.
Now we have the Raw SuperShow. Since Raw wrestlers rarely appear at Smackdown. The Smackdown show does not get any build up from today's Raw.
I honestly miss the old built up the brands did for each other. It kept the stories active instead of waiting a whole week for the part in the story.
Should the WWE return to how they originally used the brand extension to build up both shows and PPVs?
