The Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the salary information for the fighters who competed at WEC 35 last night. Here is the list courtesy of MMAJunkie.com:

-Carlos Condit: $44,000 ($22,000 win bonus)

-Steve Cantwell: $10,000 ($5,000 win bonus)

-Brian Stann: $11,000

-Jamie Varner: $30,000 ($15,000 win bonus)

-Marcus Hicks: $16,000

-Brian Bowles: $8,000 ($4,000 win bonus)

-Damacio Page: $6,000

-Josh Grispi: $8,000 ($4,000 win bonus)

They get paid that per fight? Dude I gotta get in on some of that. That's some pretty good cash for one fight no matter high card or low card, you are still getting paid pretty good.

I gotta agree. But it does depend on how often you fight. Cause some fighters fight what. 3 or 4 times a year.

If I would get paid 44,000 a fight and only have to fight 3-4 times a year, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I'd fight for 5,000 dollars anyday. How bad can it, those damn gloves have an inch of padding. Me and my friends play in Champs all the time. We try on the gloves and hit each other. It's quite fun.

I got cha there. I'm just trying to say it's pretty low salary for a professional athlete.

Yea but I don't think they were on TV right? Those were probably pre-fights. I watched WEC last weekend and they only had like 4 fights. You need to be paid more to be on TV, if you aren't on TV, I would say either you suck or you aren't well known, which justifies the low pay. We need some UFC numbers up here lol.
