Vitor Belfort was highly disappointed when a hand injury forced him out of a planned main event fight with Wanderlei Silva. Now, "The Phenom" is recovering and looking to the future.
"I don't know how long I will stay in this division," said Belfort, during a recent interview with SporTV.com. "I wanted to do two or three more fights. If my body will no longer permit this big weight cutting, I will go up (to light heavyweight)."
The current UFC 205-pound title resides with Jon Jones, but Belfort said, "I am not afraid of Jon Jones or somebody else."
As for missing out on a second chance to defeat Silva, Belfort said, "I respect him as an athlete, he left his best out there (against Rich Franklin, who replaced Belfort). They're two legends of the sport. I was happy to see that fight."
He's fought the majority of his career at 205 so it's not surprising that he's considering. There's a few fights I wouldn't mind seeing with him at LHW.
