Viscardi Andrade vs. Nicholas Musoke joins UFC Fight Night 36 fight card in Brazil
A welterweight bout between Viscardi Andrade (17-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Nicholas Musoke (11-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is the latest addition to February’s UFC Fight Night 36 fight card.
UFC officials today announced the bout.
“UFC Fight Night 36: Machida vs. Mousasi†takes place Feb. 15 at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The event’s main card airs live on FOX Sports 1 (instead of FOX Sports 2, as was originally announced) following prelims on MMAjunkie.
It’s not clear where Marcello vs. Proctor will be placed on the lineup.
Andrade, who fights in his home country, looks for his eighth consecutive win and his second straight in the UFC. After an 11-2 run on Brazil’s regional circuit, the 29-year-old signed with the UFC to appear on “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2,†where he was a semifinalist. He then scored a first-round TKO victory over Bristol Marunde at UFC 163 in his official UFC debut.
Musoke, a Swedish fighter, won five consecutive fights in Europe to receive a UFC contract earlier this year. In October at UFC Fight Night 30, the 27-year-old moved up to middleweight and tapped out veteran Alessio Sakara to pick up a “Submission of the Night†bonus. It marked his ninth stoppage in 11 career victories.
