I hope to have put this thread in the right section.

I was speaking with @Dat Babe From PH about the feeling most fans get about a wrestling return from a legend even if it is for one night. So we got to talking about it and it kind of feels like christmas when a legend returns so close to mania.

So this is a question to every fan of wrestling no matter if you are PG, Attitude or Old school how do you feel about legends returning? Do you love it? Do you disagree with it? Do you think it's holding the newer generation back? Personally my view is they are like grand parents you can not say no to them. They've made such a strong impact in your life growing up it's hard to let go and it's always a treat to see them.

Remember to keep your views constructive and non confrontational. Let's have a great discussion about it. :)

I think it really depends on how it is done. Like with Hulk Hogan coming back tonight made a lot of sense and was good to promote the company he helped become what it is. But if it's done terribly, like the Batista comeback, then no.

How its done is key.

If they are willing to put on their job boots, work matches and put over young guys then all is peachy.
It would be absolutely lovely to see a legends vs young bloods match as survivor series and having the young ones win it. Wishful thinking but I think it would be absolutely amazing.

I can't really pick a full on yes or no, but just like I said on your status, yes, I love Legends returning, but it depends on the moment, on the duration (how long will he/she stay? will he/she wrestle?), and on the Legend. Usually, I hate it when Legends come back in a permanent/semi-permanent basis because I consider them as my favorite meal - you always say you can eat the shit up every day but if you do so you can't last for more than a week.

In the case of Hogan, I am not happy with him returning because I don't really FEEL him. Watched his previous matches in the 'F and some of his work in TNA, but he doesn't appeal to me. I don't know why - is it maybe because I'm a PG era kid? I don't know, honestly. I also hate the fact that he's (probably) returning to the WWE for good. In my opinion, after the older fans get fed up with the nostalgic feeling, they'll start hating on him. Also, I don't see him fitting on the current storyline and the roster, so why bring him back? For me, it'll be another case of what happened with the Rock.

The legend that I enjoyed coming back on the top of my head was Edge, especially during that Cena/Brock storyline. I loved how his return fit into the storyline, and even though he didn't wrestle, his presence was loved by everyone, including me. It also felt more special because of the "one-night-only" feel.

Also, I don't think that the returning inhibits the younger guys to get a push. It seems like they are usually more than willing to push them, even. IMO them coming back in a semi-permanent/permanent basis will surely make them overshadow over the younger guys. Just keep it with the one night stands, shall we?

Felt like this was the longest post I ever made. Ha! XD

[...] But if it's done terribly, like the Batista comeback, then no.

Dave isn't considered as a Legend so let's keep his boring ass out of the conversation.

Hogan will be bigger than Batista regardless of how they throw it together.
