SACRAMENTO —
What girl hasn't wanted to play with this American Icon?
Add a tiny working video camera within Barbie's chest, and you have an awesome combination, right?
The FBI doesn't think so.
An internal memo, leaked to the media, warns agents the Video Girl Barbie could be a tool for pedophiles to make child porn.
"I wouldn't be surprised. There's a lot of crazy people out there that do a lot of things," local dad Alex Clausen said.
The doll can capture 30 minutes of video, which could then be downloaded to a computer.
Those images would live forever on the Internet.
A local FBI source tells FOX40 they've seen cases of child porn victims, lured by predators using Barbie, with hidden cameras to produce porn.
Video Barbie now makes the job easier for pedophiles.
That bothers parent Gary Tung, who has a 4-year-old daughter, Renee.
"Yeah. Not for her. Definitely no," Tung said.
Alex Clausen feels the same way, despite Julia, his 8-year-old daughter, who likes Video Barbie.
"There's a lot she likes. She doesn't get everything she likes," he said.
