Uwe Boll's 'The Bailout' to Shoot in Vancouver

The German director is set to start production in April on a thriller about a New Yorker who goes on a shooting rampage in the wake of the 2008 Wall Street financial meltdown.

TORONTO – German director Uwe Boll is set to start shooting The Bailout, a thriller about the human toll of the 2008-09 global financial meltdown, in Vancouver in April.

There’s no word on casting, but the film will be produced by Daniel Clarke and Shawn Williamson, and long-time Boll collaborator Mathais Neumann will serve as director of photography.

The Bailout follows Jim, an average New Yorker who loses everything because of the 2008 Wall Street financial crisis, and who strikes back by targeting investment bankers for assassination.

Boll's latest picture is booked from April 9 to 28 for a shoot in Vancouver.

Brightlight Pictures’ Shawn Williamson produced a number of earlier Boll movies, including BloodRayne, House of the Dead, Postal and Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale.
