Universal Wrestling Alliance was created April 8, 1954. A man named Charlie Cosgrove founded it. It went head to head with WWWF, the World Wide Wrestling Federation owned by Vince McMahon Sr. until Charlie Cosgrove eventually bought it out in 1959 although, since then Charlie apparently stepped down as owner and gave the position to someone else whom is unknown. Since 1959 though, UWA has been the most dominating company in Sports-Entertainment. UWA has had such legends as Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and Dusty Rhodes wrestle for it. Charlie Cosgrove has since passed and his son whom is named the same ran the company until a since unknown man took over the company. The UWA currently has no real opposition except for WCW & TNA whom merged recently into one company which is TNA and it is no major threats at the moment. UWA currently has one TV Show which is broad casted on the USA Network. The show is titled Monday Night 'Ignition' and has been rating excellently since it signed with the network a few years ago. UWA has 7 Pay-Per-View's a year generally once every two months with the occasional 3-Hour Supershow. The Pay-Per-Views are listed lower down in this thread. UWA also has 3 active titles, The UWA World Heavyweight Championship, the UWA Prodigy Championship, The UWA World Tag Team Championship. The UWA Intercontinental Championship is the second major title close behind the World Heavyweight Championship.
UWA's Roster has been the home for many of wrestling's finest including UWA Legends Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan, Billy Kidman & Dusty Rhodes. Here is the current roster.
