Useless, Random, or Depressing Facts Thread

Good morning gentlemen! I thought this would be a pretty sweet idea to post some facts that we thought are interesting, dumb, depressing, etc... Anyway, if there is something you would like to add then feel free to do so! I'll add several as time progresses.

-The country of Cuba only has one McDonalds and it is located in Guantanamo Bay.

-Milk from a Hippo is pink. (I wonder if it is strawberry flavored?)

-The average human contains enough body fat to create seven bars of soap (Also saw this on an episode of Tales from the Crypt. Interesting that this is true)

-The average person laughs 15 times a day (Guess I'm far from average since I'm bit of a clown... although some posters I've encountered over the years don't get my humor)

-Some Tooth Pastes contain anti-freeze (Good thing I don't brush mah teeth! J/K)

And finally,

-One of the Major reasons Reefer/Weed/Hemp/Mary Jane is illegal is because in the 1930s cotton growers lobbied against the legalization of the product. In other words, it was seen as competition because it is addictive like alcohol, caffine, nicotine, etc. (So you can't legally get a buzz on because of the White American farmer wanting to keep him finacial stash and WILL NOT be discriminated against! Haha)

I just want to share one more. A friend of mine (of Color, no less) told me where the racial slur Honkey came from the other day. We were all sitting out on the block back home and he gave me the origins of the term.

-The term honkey was given to white males who would drive to the black neighborhoods and honk their horns to pick up their black mistresses. They did this because they wouldn't want anyone to see them getting out and picking up their undercover lovers. Thus the term honkey was born.

Interesting and sad fact... Since 2001, there have been 4,265 US Citizens killed in the city of Chicago. That is 2.5 times the number of Soldiers killed in the Afghanistan War.
