Why WWE Kept Brock Off RAW/Rock Beatdown Angle

The Rock was scheduled to be beatdown by Brock Lesnar on the post-WrestleMania 29 RAW to set up a WrestleMania XXX match, but had to return to Miami because of the injury he suffered. According to those close to the situation, Rock was the one who came up with the angle. Monday afternoon was described as panic because Vince McMahon led the writing team in re-doing the entire show.

Lesnar was kept off RAW when word came that Rock wasn't going to be there because it's now the start of his new contract and he has very limited TV dates over the next year. WWE officials didn't want to waste a Rock or Brock appearance without something major happening.

And the show lacked nothing without these two on it. This fued is just utterly pointless, these two both lost a TONNE of credibility at WM.

At least WWE are intent with going for a Rock/Lesnar match at WMXXX instead of Rock/Cena III.

I actually wouldn't mind Rock/Brock, in fact I'd probably mark

If Cena/Rock III happens at Mania, "I'll stop watching forever" :cole:
Seriously though, fuck that shit.

I'm concerended about Brock's limited dates now, if it's limited compare to before then he'll be on Summerslam and WM and that's it.

What R'Albs and Pyro said. Brock lost both his feuds since he returned, why should I think he can beat the Great One? And after that, why should I care? Put over Bryan or somebody and go back to MMA so you can get your ass kicked again.

RE: Why WWE Kept Brock Off RAW/Rock Beatdown Angle

Brock is a beast, he can easily still be sold as a threat, especially if he gets a couple of big wins before The Rock match.

I'm not making excuses for jobbing him out to Cena or making sure Triple H got his win on the big stage BUT he did make Triple H tap out cleanly in their first encounter. He did destroy John Cena, bust him open, break his arm and have him pinned if not for the referee being knocked out. He could very much say that he lost the battle but won the war there.

Don't forget the rumors of Lesnar winning the WWE Title again, which could mean defeating Cena. Hopefully if he feuds with Punk, they don't put Punk over. I think the best way to book that is to have Punk take the fight to Lesnar and last with him and maybe even have Lesnar in pain himself from the Anaconda Vice, but ultimately Punk fails. In a match scenario like that, lasting with Brock Lesnar and taking him to his limit can do just about as much for you as actually pinning him. (I'd book a Bryan/Lesnar match the same way, only play up the underdog aspect even more there because of Bryan's size.)

Either way, we'll be a year removed from Lesnar's loss to HHH (and two years removed from his loss to Cena) so I'm sure it won't seriously affect Lesnar's drawing power and credibility by the time Wrestlemania XXX rolls around. It all depends on how they book Lesnar over the next year.

I love Brock and enjoy seeing him in WWE whenever he is on... but even more limited dates than before? That sucks. Good for Brock because he is raping Vince over a barrel like a boss, but shame on WWE for letting him do so.

God this annoys me, jobbing does not = buried. He lost 2 matches which he spent the majority of time on the offence in against a 13 time and a 12 time world champion for god's sake. People are seriously overrating how much wins and losses matter in the WWE for most guys, a prime example is CM Punk guess how many PPV matches he won in the year before OTL 2011? The answer is 1 I believe and then he went on to OTL beat Mysterio then the 2 weeks after he was someone who looked like a threat to take the title away from Cena and the WWE as a whole, Brock can do that even easier than Punk. You know why? Because he's still Brock Fucking Lesnar, he's still the former UFC champion, former WWE Champion and former NCAA All American. Look at him for god's sake he's a monster if he loses 3 times or 300 he's just got that ability.

Nope, Lesnar is buried. If he went over Santino on SMS I'd be like wtf, but he was buried by Cena/HHH, this is dumb as fuck!

As reported on Monday, original plans for this week’s RAW included appearances from The Rock and Brock Lesnar. The Rock was scheduled to open the show talking about his loss at WrestleMania, which would have led to Brock Lesnar coming out and beating up The Rock, setting up an eventual showdown at WrestleMania XXX.
The Rock’s getting injured at WrestleMania 29 and flying home to Miami led to the angle being called off, for the time being. According to those close to the situation, Rock was the one who came up with the angle with Lesnar.
The absence of The Rock and Brock Lesnar on RAW led to a chaotic environment backstage at RAW, since the script had to be re-written.
While The Rock was out of town on Monday night, Brock Lesnar still could have been used. However, due to the nature of Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract (limited appearances), the decision was made to not use one of those limited dates if they didn’t have something big for him.

Well I guess this match is off the table win Rock getting injury to Cena that no way Movie Guys are going let him in fight with Brock!

TBH I don't care anymore, last Monday proved that the show can go on and be very entertaining without those part timers, they just need to have faith in the young talents they have.
Hell, Dolph was the most over superstar in the arena and he got cheered even bigger than Taker, John Cena and even the multiple times Rock was mentioned.

Rock Vs Brock is definitely better than seeing Rock/Cena again, but I hope they don't ruin the match with with a stupid build up in during the next year.
