» It doesn't appear to be a lock that Tommy Dreamer will be leaving WWE next month as he was offered a new contract. A storyline began earlier this year that Dreamer vowed to win the ECW Championship before June 6 as that would be the only way he would stay as his deal was running up. There have been reports that the company is interested in making Dreamer the new GM of ECW to replace interim GM Tiffany, but that hasn't been confirmed and is purely speculation at this point.

It'll be well shit if they just have him say "Cool... I got a new contract... All that stuff I said about the title don't mean shit now."...

IMO it'd be much better to run the story as initially planned, have him lose in a title match, have him retire from SANCTIONED(*) competition and write him into the GM role.

(*If I find it necessary to use that phrase one more time today I'm gonna make like Michael Douglas in 'Falling Down'! lol)

"heat on Tiffany"

The mad thing is I think she's doing a much better job that any of us could have expected. Certainly more of a natural that Adamle (not a diss.... I thought he'd have been good in the long run.).

He should actually work as a commentator instead of in ring performer for these days.

He only said he'd leave ECW if he didn't get the title, if he gets a new contract and doesn't get the title he could just show up on Raw or Smackdown.

^^^C'maaawn, it's only the 'ECW Original' connection, and the modicum of 'legitimacy' it supposedly brings to the WWECW, that's kept him employed on-screen for THIS long.... Moving him to another brand is senseless. They won't do anything with him.

They don't do anything with him anyway on ECW. He's just a veteran jobber, he could be a jobber on another brand too. Although I doubt that it'll happen, if they needed a way out of the "retirement" storyline they could go that route.

I read a report that had like this, but said he didn't want to have a non-wrestling role. Don't remember the site though.

I meant literally nothing.

His association with ECW ("Heart & Soul oF ECW" etc.) is what gives the jobs he does on the show weight. That won't 'translate' to another brand.

Sandman was also a jobber on WWECW. He moved to Raw and...well, while they indeed tried to do something with him, he just didn't click.

Dreamer could only stay in ECW. If anything, watch him get the belt at ONS and then lose it immediately on Tuesday.

^^^Dreamer is "The last remnants of the the old republic...". LOL

(Rep point for correctly identifying the quote... ;o] )

...But yeah, considering how much that belt has meant to the company thus far, I could defo see Dreamer having a 'blink-and-you-missed-it' title reign.
